What is Luis Suarez worth?

I'll just leave this here.....

So, Walters_19_MuFc wins.

But, these articles were subject of now defunct "OMG" thread in the Transfers forum. Experts say it's incredibly stupid, and powers that be killed the thread.

After last summer, I'm absolutely confident that Suarez will be going nowhere.

Because of Arsenal?

I don't know if Real Madrid actually want him but if Real Madrid want a player, they tend to get their player.

Any other club but Madrid and Barca, and I'd totally agree with you. These 2 clubs are on another level though when it comes to attracting players. If Real really want him, you'l find it very hard to keep him. Real even more so than Barca because they arent cheap cnuts. They pay up.

I just think the club know his worth & won't be prepared to sell him, even if Madrid bid a ridiculous amount. John Henry proved a stubborn fecker last summer and Spurs' decline after the Bale departure will have taught him further as to the importance of our best player.

Its not about whether or not you want to sell him. If Real get interested, Suarez will throw a strop to leave and considering Real will pay good money, you'l give away eventually.

What are the odds Suarez kicks up a fuss if Real come calling considering your owner openly lied about his contract?

I'm just curious as to which clubs have kept their player after Real Madrid showed a real, concrete interest in them and did their whole routine?

Suarez threw a strop last summer and we dealt with it accordingly; he soon came around. I'm not even bothered at the prospect of the situation arising - honestly feel we're in complete control.

Probably quite high. But he's signed a new contract anyway.

You can surely see the difference between the offer from Arsenal, a risible offer from a divisional rival which you could have argued wasn't a significant step up last summer....and Real Madrid?

Mate, last season's club chasing him were Arsenal. As africanspur said, division rivals, not a major step up and a 40mil bid. You're very naive if you think its similar to Real Madrid coming in for him. New contract or not, you'l see the cnut in Suarez that everyone else does if they come in for him, you can be certain of that. And they dont even feck around with 40mil bids, they'l put the money on the table. If Real want him, I'l be amazed if you kept him.

I can see the difference, absolutely. But I believe we have the bollocks to say no to Madrid/Suarez if he wanted the move.

Ah I see. I disagree but alright. Whatever happens, it'l be great to see the meltdown among Pool fans. Suarez's agent came up with "suarez has always had a predisposition for Spain" few days back iirc.

Bayern with Ribery! Not sure what would happen now if they were to do their usual thing and go after one of our players, though we are in better position now than we were in 2009.

feck off Real! :(

I know you like to feel that Suarez is a Saint, but trust me, he is not. He shafted Ajax to come to Liverpool, and he will do the same to you. He has already spoken of his dream to play in Barcelona/Real, btw.

It was his lawyer I believe.

Yes, Suarez probably relishes a move to Madrid. Native language; great weather; biggest club in the world etc. His romanticism with Liverpool is most likely mythical. We can't be selling our key assets if we want to go places, though. Not unless we firmly believe we can benefit. I get the feeling the club feels the same way.

Ah yes his lawyer, you're right.

Ah yes that feeling again, doesn't mean he won't slip away though.

I don't want to sell him because I very much doubt that those we might buy for whatever fee we get will actually be able to match his worth to us on the pitch.

That said, if he is determined to join them, then I'll be ok with anything in excess of £80.000.002.

As we found with Ronaldo. What Madrid wants, they absolutely get. If they want him badly then he'll go either this season or the next season.

Can't see where Suaréz would fit in at RM, they'd surely have to move on Di Maria, unless they plan on converting Ronaldo to a CF and selling Benzema? I think it's looking more and more likely he'll be with 'pool for another season strangely.

Benz out obviously.

Madrid wont get this one IMO. He's just signed a fresh contract and he's not young enough to pull the whole 'I'll run it out and get my move later anyways for free' card. Unless they're gonna be breaking the transfer record two summers in a row, I don't see Pool letting him go when they're this close to success. Bayern shook Madrid off for Ribery so its not exactly beyond the realms of reality

And if not you'll at least receive a truckload of cash for your troubles.
