What is Luis Suarez worth?

Clattenberg completely bottled it today.

He should 100% have been off but could you imagine the shot storm he'd have faced for making a decision that big?

I still think he'll leave Liverpool at the end of the season wither the win they league or not. One of the big Spanish clubs must be watching him now and if Pool get a 50m+ offer than it's going to be impossible to turn down.

Also I image Arsenal fans aren't particularity happy with Wenger's 40m and ONE POUND bid in the summer.

There's no way they're selling him for £50m. I don't think they'd sell him for under £80m and even then they probably won't.

He's going to make them £30m this season by the way he's carried them to the CL spots. They'd be mental to sell for anything but a world record figure.

Not a chance.

100m wouldn't look at Suarez at the minute in the sense that Liverpool don't need to sell him, they don't want to sell him and there's no sign from him that he wants to go.

Right now no, but he caused quite the racket in the summer didn't he?

30 mins of falling over. Countinho saved him, for the majority of the second half he'd completely lost it

First time this season he's really shown signs of being the clown he was last season. He was getting really worked up and resorted to all his old tricks.

Still the best player in ANY league this season though.

Absolutely. There wasn't a chance that Liverpool were going to get any decisions against them today. Forget hendersons sending off, that was too late in the game and when it didn't matter. Probably would have got a booking if it had been earlier in the game. The fact he didn't send off Sewer rat could have handed Liverpool the title.

I would argue that Diego Costa has been equal to him... the extent of their impact on games is similar + he's scored almost the same amount of goals in a far, far more defensive (negative even) team.

That really is an incredible record.

They'll struggle to hold on to him this summer. Madrid would do well to unload Benzema to PSG and go after Suarez. He's be even better with Bale and Ronaldo.

IF Liverpool win the league and enter the CL next season I don't think the "Suarez will leave" prediction is as secure. He's already in a pile of money. He's playing for a manager who is making him better. He's onto a good thing right now...

If I was Suarez I would leave right away. He's already stayed on overtime. He's given them the title (let's face it). Liverpool will get about £50m in their pocket. The way I see it he owe them nothing and should be allowed to leave and make the most of his talent at a place where the whole world is watching.

£50m? I guess you're probably just trolling here.

That could be the case, although it would depend on Suarez. If Madrid come in with a large bid, I don't think there would be much Liverpool could do to stop him from leaving. This is after all, a player who was willing to move to Arsenal 10 months ago.

Let's break this down:
  • He's given them the title: more of a reason to stay if he's found a winning formula.
  • He owes them nothing: apart from support, backing and guidance during a very difficult time with his bans.
  • £50m: in the current climate and Suarez's form I'd say that was a huge under valuation.
  • Make the most of his talent: because he's currently not showing his potential?
  • At a place where the world is watching: he plays in the world's most watched league and for a globally significant club with a massive fanbase. I think people are already watching.

This is one of the most embarassing things you can see in football.

Don't think he's been his usual self over the last month or so. Still contributing hugely though.

Was awful today IMO, I think the absence of Sturridge cannot be underestimates, has that been Sturridge and Suarez rather than Lucas and Suarez at the end it was a goal.

Yeah. Lucas looked clueless every time he passed the halfway line.

That sort of shit needs to be cut out. The FA should investigate this after to be honest, it's just not right when he does that to get the guy booked. I'm not just saying this because of it being Suarez, I would say it if it were any of our players too, just through gritted teeth instead.

I agree with you that it is blatant cheating. However if the ref saw this in game he should have given a yellow, since it wouldn't be more than that I doubt there will any investigation into this. They only bother when it is a serious offence that could result into a suspension, this however blantantly it is, is acting/diving and will not result into a retrospective ban.

I wonder what goes on in his head that tells him to continuously do stuff like that. I honestly don't get it. Brilliant footballer and all that but stuff like that really irks me.

Isn't it the culture of Latin players* these days? It's considered valiant and professional in the culture from what I have read.

*Not just limited to Latin players obviously

So like Sturridge's dive which got Vidic suspended for two games?

I wouldn't really say it's Latin culture as players like Messi, Aguero, Cavani, Vidal don't go to the ground as easily. Obviously almost all players do it, it's just that Suarez does this kind of thing on a regular basis. It's way too often. I admire his skill, I really do, but I just hate seeing players embarass themselves like that.

Don't they stop for a second and think how that might reflect on them, their club, family etc.?
