What is Luis Suarez worth?

He done that last summer, we still kept him, he's a strop but he also loves to play football by the time it gets to September he would be back to his best again.
The difference between Arsenal wanting to sign him and Madrid being interested is pretty big. There wasn't concrete interest from Madrid last summer because they had their heart set on Bale.

The Suarez to Madrid is mostly just hopeful ramblings from United fans. I believe Suarez will be at Anfield this time next year.

Being courted by Arsenal isn't quite the same as being courted by Madrid. Once the bright lights of Madrid start flashing at him, his head will turn faster than he does on the field and I'm sure he must harbor some hopes of being a galactico. I'm not downplaying Liverpool, but surely you can't think he'll stay and give you his prime years if he can make a bigger name for himself elsewhere.

Where have you seen/read that Madrid are after Suarez? Have you anything to help back this up?

I never said they're after him. But they will be, eventually. They need their dose of galactico signings and Suarez is as galactico as they come. They'll be really interested if they win the decima and/or La Liga this year. And if they don't, they'll be desperate for a new big name signing to divert the fans' outrage.

I agree with that, I just think the idea that you can keep him no problems if Madrid come knocking is inaccurate.

You have basically contradicted yourself in your second sentence, unless you are Mystic Meg with a crystal call you do not know that. For what its worth, I think Aguero would be a better fit for Real.

I agree. I think he'll give it one season with Liverpool in the Champions League anyway. Liverpool will improve big time in the summer as well, with them needing to buy players because they'll be in more than one competition.

I'd be surprised though if he never puts on a Real Madrid jersey.

I agree, he'd be a better fit. But the hype surrounding Suarez is bigger, as of now, and rightly so. Acquiring Aguero from City would be much harder, given his past Atletico connections. Look, I'm not saying Suarez is a dead cert goner next season but I really don't think he'll be satisfied with his career if he doesn't have one of the big boys on his CV.

I think he'll still be with you next season now you're set for CL football. He'll probably relish the chance of doing the business for Liverpool in Europe and his future will be decided on what happens next season and whether you can retain CL football or not (which will be pretty difficult IMO).

For what I have seen/read of Suarez playing for one of the 'big boys' doesn't seem to be a massive aim, he seems to thrive on winning and being successful, on being a leader for his team, as well as playing champions league football which he has admitted he wants, barring us shitting the nest he will have all of those things at Liverpool next year.

I suppose you never know but making the CL and having a tilt at the title should be enough to keep Suarez and I'd like to think next season can be even better than this one with additions in the summer and playing in Europe, Suarez is the best paid player at the club, he is worshipped by the fans and I would say he is in line to be captain after Gerrard if he's still here in a few years, it depends what he wants out of his footballing career.

Its easier to keep players when you've just challenged for the league and he has just signed a 4 year contract. If Madrid came in last season i agree he would have been gone, if they come in this season i think we will still be able to keep him unless the come in with an offer that blows the Bale one out of the water, we've built our team around him, no way we will let him go before he even plays CL, people on here will continue to insist he will go this summer for obvious reasons, but i trust the owners on this one.

If Spurs ever manage to develop another Bale i'm sure they would think twice about selling him as well, for the most part unless you have a manager like Ferguson who has a history of selling big players and replacing them with no worries, you don't sell your best players.

Again, I am not saying that Real will come in for Suarez this summer or next. I was merely pointing out that us being Spurs and you being Liverpool has nothing to do with it. And you yourself have just agreed.

Everybody other than an elite of perhaps 4 or 5 clubs eventually have to sell their best players. And when it comes to Real, they've shown an ability to remove best players even from those other clubs too.

This is why I've never understood this criticism of Spurs being a 'selling club'. I'd like someone to show me a single club at our level worldwide that isn't a selling club? Or even most clubs above our level? Which clubs consistently fend off interest from more successful, richer clubs?

How did Liverpool 'being Liverpool' help when Chelsea, Real and Barcelona came calling in the past 5 seasons?

I don't doubt for a second that we didn't want to sell Bale. Unfortunately sometimes there isn't much you can realistically do.

And I think Suarez will still be at Liverpool next season. I also think it will be a more difficult job to stay in the top 4 next season that it was breaking in this season.

Fair enough. You're not half as unreasonable as you're made out to be.

If Real comes calling, Suarez will go. It's really that simple.

But everything points to Luis being happy at Anfield. Fair play to the racist, serial diving cheat.

He will go for a massive fee. Not quite sure it will be more than Ronaldo or Bale as he is older than them both at the time of a move but Liverpool will make a serious profit.

It seems a pretty safe prediction that he'll go for silly money in summer 2015. Real just can't help themselves.

The media have not mentioned the fact he should have been sent off. He also did not score in a big game, again.

Mind you he's got a Norwich with no manager next so that's a hat-trick at least.

I wonder how livid Norwich will be when a player who should definitely be suspended scores six goals against them.

Set up the first goal though.

And should have had a penalty too, even if he was lucky to be on the pitch on that point.

His diving alone is worth 10m. He's incredible at avoiding punishment.

Will stay to 2015 then record breaking move to Madrid.

Aguero will go no where. City are as flush as they come and can tell them no at any price.

I hope this bastard doesn't break Ronaldo's record of 31 goals in a season. Next up is Norwich though and he's on 29 goals. :nervous:

His passes to team mates on the break are fantastic. Puts perfect weight on them every single time.

Everything shit that could possibly happen to us is happening to us this season all at once, so I'd that it'll happen. Wake me up when this season ends.

Have you not been awarded enough soft penalties this season? If Suarez should have got 1 Silva should have got 2!

That dive today was amazing, and the way he started hobbling afterwards as if he was injured

God I'd love to see someone snap his leg in two. I don't care how big of a cnut that makes me tbh. He's vile.

Yep, even those with the outside of his right boot.

He's an absolute wanker, but great to watch when he's in this form.

I remember about two months back (can't remember who Liverpool were playing; all I remember is that they were at home), Suarez was standing over a free-kick about forty yards from goal. I was saying to myself, "There's absolutely no way he's shooting from here," but sure enough, he lines it up and arrows it into the top right corner. It actually couldn't have been better placed: right into the angle of post and crossbar. The only reason the 'keeper saved it was because Suarez struck it from so far out.

When footballers are playing football like that, it's very hard not to be impressed, no matter how much of a prick they are.
