What is Luis Suarez worth?

Currently the best player in the world on form. But I don't get to see that much Zlatan.

Amusing to read the first page of this thread back in April, when Caftards, showing no bias or prejudice whatever, thought £30m was about right! :D

Ozil creates goals, but Suarez creates and scores goals, He has been directly involved in 17 goals this season, that is incredible when you think about it in just nine matches. I'm not completely sold on Ozil, he has glimpses of pure magic but a lot of the time he is just average, e.g. against Liverpool he was quite poor. That said you can't really compare the two fairly as they offer different things.

Difference is Suarez simply HAS to shoulder the mantle as he has vastly inferior and non-creative players around him - bar the brilliantly maturing Sturridge and the quality Coutinho.

Ozil dictates the play absolutely brilliantly, and further takes pressure off the likes of Ramsey, Wilshere, Cazorla and co, who are all players that would command a starting place in Liverpool's XI. He isn't required to be the focal point of our every move. Suarez is.

Ozil and average just a simply don't go in the same sentence together.

Not really, I'm just discussing my opinion and backing up what I believe. How much of Arsenal have you seen to say Ozil is average a lot of the time? I'll admit he has not hit top form yet but to say he has been average most of the time is a bit of a sweeping statement.

It's LOL worthy isn't it. He's already leading the league in assists all without the three players that would benefit from his passing the most - Walcott, Ox and Das Hammerfoot - all not playing.

Once we have pace to get in behind defenders he will be that much more dangerous.

I haven't seen his four goals due to that how despondent I felt after the Everton game. Should really get around to that now...

Anyway back to Suarez - Liverpool should be asking for Bale-esque money is he keeps this form up, has a good WC and most importantly an incident free season.

Ridiculous goals. Personally I like the 3rd the best.

A Liverpool fan at work said it was ridiculous - and that's he's the best player in the world...

I'll get round to it, I just know watching his goals after our defeat to Everton wouldn't have been good for my health. I made the right choice.

The two former could come to pass - the latter, though...probably not. He'll end up charged with match fixing or something before the end of the season.

Luis Suarez is a victim of his own success. He's too good for Liverpool and he wants to leave but can't because he's gotten too expensive.

50-60M. I think he'll go if Liverpool don't get the CL this year, there's only so much time that a club can hold to a player before you just have to let them go.

Mate you'll be able to appreciate them from a spectacle point of view. Doesn't mean he's not a rat faced khunto though!

He was always going t prioritise playing over a transfer in the run up to the World Cup. No chance he will stay with no CL football. As it stands, they could well get it ahead of us though.

It didn't stop Bale or Ronaldo moving. He's a victim of his own cuntishness. What club is going to spend £60m+ on a PR disaster? He's a cretin and his image would make it difficult for the big teams to justify big money because compared to the clean cut players, outside of Liverpool you'd struggle to sell his shirts.

Real just bought Bale. They won't go for Suarez. Bale is also more marketable so it's easy for them to spend that money on him.

It's Monaco, PSG or Barcelona that are the only options for him outside of England. He knows that. He probably would have gone to Arsenal. City might take a punt but I don't think Liverpool would sell.

Wrong. The major consumption markets in Asia and South America couldn't give a rats ass if he was a racist bucktoothed twat.

PR disaster, yes, but he's still known and admired as one of the best players in the world. IMO the risk is more to do with his temperament. Most clubs would be wary of an unhinged individual capable of biting his way out of a club.

The cnut factor is quickly wearing off. Most fans would love to have Suarez in their side.

So, Barnes or Suarez? I think those two are the most talented (not necessarily the best) players to play for our club? Who had more talent though? For me, Barnes edges it. In his prime he was incredible.

If Arsenal were to sign Suarez, they'd effectively become the best team in the world, I should think. (On current form!)

The way you said people like Falcao and Cavani, sounded like you were talking down about them. They are all on the same level imo.

Falcao has gone down a level or 2 since his move. Atletico are a better team without him and Monaco seem to be playing better right now without him too. Suarez is currently better than both.

I've gone from thinking him a right cnut - because of his antics in the summer - to one of sympathy. He deserves to be playing in the CL. & if we don't get that 4th spot, I doubt there would be many of us who would begrudge him a transfer next summer.

Of all the Liverpool games I've seen in my life (of which there are many). That has to be the best individual performance I've ever witnessed by a Liverpool player. Robbie Fowler made me laugh when he said that he loves him for what he's doing for the club on the pitch, but he hates him because he's making a lot of the ex-Liverpool legends look average.

Regardless of whether or not we do make the CL next year, I just hope he doesn't feck it up by having one of his mad moments.

He scored the goal of the season, surely. And from what I heard from my LFC fan mate and from watching highlights, it was the best individual performance from a Liverpool player in the last decade or so.

Close enough to count. It's one for the annals anyway.

Forget the last decade, it was one of the greatest, if not the greatest.

That's the entire problem with getting big money for Suarez. Even his own fans are not sure that he won't have an idiotic moment sometime in the season. That's why any club would think twice before spunking 60m+ on him no matter how good is he playing.

The stuff he's got up to in his career should never be forgotten. He'll do something soon to remind us all of his sheer cuntery. Leopards and spots and all that.

Greatest performance by any Liverpool player coming against Norwich at home in a match with very little stakes? I don't think so.

Reading this page, I feel that I should really get down to watching the highlights of the Pool-Norwich game. Have avoided everything football related since Wednesday because I already know what is going to be dominating.

Even with his prior faults, it would be lunacy for any club to not want him. He's basically the third best footballer in the world at the moment, or at least no worse than in the top 5.

Maybe not most significant, but certainly it is up there with the greatest individual performances at Anfield. Tottenham in 78 was only a league game, but again, that is hands down, the greatest team performance I have ever seen at anfield.

I would console myself knowing that players this good do not stay at clubs that are not in the CL. If they don't make it this season, he'll definitely be off next time.

It's not just significance, you've got to weigh in the lack of quality of the opposition. Which surely sets it below some of Gerrard's roy-of-the-rovers moments, never mind what Dalglish and Souness regularly delivered at the cutting edge in Europe.

Lionel Messi has built his reputation by scoring most of his goals against inferior opposition. The same Lad is surrounded by much better players, playing in a much better side. It's not as though we were playing Accrington Stanley in a meaningless friendly. We were playing a Premiership side, & 3 points were at stake. I seriously doubt you'll see any striker score 4 goals of that quality in a competitive match this season.
