Westminster Politics

An ode?…

Yes I used London Transport and have done for two decades. It’s only ever got better at a time that nationals services have got progressively worse.

We have one of the best transport systems on the planet and some of the best cycling infrastructure that’s only getting better. I’ll talk a lot of shit about this godforsaken isle, but we move millions of people round exceptionally well.

We need less car journeys, less pollution, increased public health and money spent on people, not cars.

Sadiq’s point was so simple to understand. Try to listen again instead of just cherry picking and misrepresenting.
Except it literally hasn’t got better. They’ve cut bus routes down, completely cut out entire bus routes. And we’re literally in the middle of some of the most prolonged strikes in tube and rail history.
We’ve seen the highest amount of cancellations on record in a month since records began. Prices for travel is also at its highest. On what planet is a service getting better when it’s charging people more and factually producing a more unreliable service in terms of delays and cancellations.
Our transport should be the best on the planet, with the amount of fecking money that goes into it. It still needs to be held to a standard.

“Sadiqs point was so simple to understand”
I don’t think it’s me who needs to rewatch the video. He doesn’t make any point . Essentially gaslighting anyone who turned up there with valid qualms against ulez by telling them they’re in cahoots with the far right, covid deniers and anti vaxxers.
A common Sadiq Khan tactic…..

We need less car journeys, less pollution, increased public health and money spent on people, not cars.
Nobody said that shouldn’t be the case. I didn’t say it, it wasn’t my point with the post either. I don’t drive in inner London, my car would be ulez compliant. Its not personal to me…

however It’s possible to empathise with people who it may effect, and who’s circumstances might dictate that using their car is cheaper than paying up to 300£ on a monthly travel card or that public transport isn’t actually suitable for their job.

You can think this and then ….not expect those people to be called right wing nut jobs by the mayor of London nonetheless…

Bit if a boring PMQs today in my opinion. Seems the tories immigration smokescreen worked exactly as intended. No idea why the WhatsApp leaks over the past week barely got a mention.

The childishness of playground terms like 'left wing blob', particularly relating to issues as sensitive as immigration, is extremely tedious and annoying.

Also, despite the obvious fact of her being a malicious lying idiot, why is Braverman simultaneously saying the bill is more than 50% likely to be breaking international law, while claiming it's legal at the same time? The ECHR theories aren't enough in themselves, given if the Tories' latest immigration plan fails they'll piss off their base.

Imagine if the nazis were to commit genocide on Jewish people today. With no legal routes to the UK they would just be left to their own devices. And if they did somehow manage to get here, they could be used as slaves.

Mental.

I'd love to know Rachel Rileys opinion on this as I know she has been very vocal about politics and antisemitism in the past. As a prominent antisemitism campaigner she must be absolutely outraged.

Setting it up nicely to tear up the ECHR. Say the Europe are trying to stop Britain from protecting its borders, every mouth breather will chant "yeah! Get rid of this stupid European law!" And overnight find that their employer can shit in their mouth and sack them without warning. But it's fine because some evil monster with sharp teeth from a weird sounding country won't be moving to a place near you.

If the UK leaves the ECHR they'll join Belarus and Russia as the only two other European nations not signed up. What prestigious company.
It'll also break the Good Friday agreement. Right wing people are so fecking thick.

Comparing Suella to the Third Reich is unacceptable. But apparently it's ok to dehumanise asylum seekers and call them a "swarm".

It's also OK for Alan Sugar to make comparisons between Jeremy Corbyn and Hitler too.

She only cares about Corbyn. No mention from her. No campaigns etc.

How did we end up here? We have a government waging cultural war in the open.

Find it so frustrating how a stupid 3 word slogan finds its way into the public consciousness and gets legitimised by the media. Yvette Cooper was asked today "what will you do to stop the boats", just embarassing, we let these idiots set the agenda again and again.

They need to stick to smash the people smugglers line. Just shows the state of the country when they ignore all of the problems like the NHS and the cost of living but yet focus on this.

Kenneth Clarke speaking very well on Question Time tonight. Not often I find myself agreeing with a Conservative.
