Typical bully. Needs his cronies behind him cheering him on, even when he doesn't make sense.
Boris is flapping again
I think the calculation is that the climb downs are generally to positions with public support - boris is a populist - hes trying to be a populist - i dont think he has many convictions beyond hard brexit (which is one policy they have showed no sign of backing down on so far)It’s incredible how often this current government has made a decision, then had to reverse it a short while later. Seems genuinely unprecedented? Latest u-turn is regarding the lockdown in Manchester but they seem to have been constantly making humiliating climb-downs. Often on really important issues (e.g. A Levels). Has any British government ever so obviously lacked the courage of its convictions?

I’ve heard Kier ripped him a new one again, as per.
Yep just seen some of the answers now, what the hell was that answer to Blackford at the end?!He did.
But today, Boris performance was a new low, even by his appalling standards.
He knows that Starmer has a fixed number of questions.
What he is now having to do is not only to not get anywhere near to an answer. But to launch into a pathetic attack on a subject nothing to do with the or any question.
Surely it is up to the speaker of the house to request that the PM actually answers the question, rather than Starmer having to waste another of his allocation trying to get an answer.
Bercow would've made him answer the questions. I miss that guy.He did.

Well not if they're homophobic misogynist obviously. After all nearly all tories are experts at that!I thought we were fed up of experts?
I think its at this point, as football fans, we need to chant repeatedly "you don't know what you're doing"!I missed it if he listed them but Starmer kept referencing 12 u-turns during the pandemic and 8 policy climb downs in 8 months.
Politicians ain’t what they used to be, the idea of resigning is foreign these days. What an utter clown. Stuff like this should be a resigning matter but it’s just another one to forget about in a week’s time in today’s milieu.

There is no doubt Boris is a populist, but I rather have a Government that changes its mind/course of actions when its realizes its necessary.
We have had too many Governments (in my life time) that have refused to change direction even when its clear they are going the wrong way. This has cost the country dearly in lives and money and wasted opportunities. Boris will be judged on his policy outcomes not on the day to day 'tacking' or alterations made to follow a previously unknown and ever changing course of action.
The Covid pandemic has reached into many areas that no one would have thought possible, not just health issues, social matters, education, economics and of course politics. There will be more after-shocks to come before things settle down and in politics we are likely to see many examples of 'strange-bedfellows' emerging.
"Employment of Labour activists without equivalent Conservative representation"This is absolutely fecking terrifying.
The flu vaccine has limited effectiveness. Take 2017/18 as an example it averaged 15% effectiveness across all age groups. Obviously that varies year on year. But even at the top level of effectiveness it will not prevent a "double whammy".They should just start by getting everyone vaccinated for flu this winter. Last thing we need is a double whammy of flu and covid flying around
Especially when they has been given plenty of feedback from teachers prior to the school U turn. Local councils in Greater Manchester prior to easing lockdown U turn etc. There is nothing wrong with a government that is prepared to reconsider the odd decision.
But there is a fundamental problem with a government that makes so many utterly stupid decisions that it is continually having to make not just a minor correction. But in so many cases a complete 180 U turn.
It smacks of muddled thinking, or making decisions 'on the hoof' without the proper checks and balances. And it totally undermines the public confidence such that large numbers of people get so confused, they ignore the important messages.
