Westminster Politics

Bloody foreigners, coming over here taking our jobs and not working.

A situation known as...

Yeah, he's gets his hands dirty too though.
Still thats rather different than if he was a worker.

I'm not saying old people can't work but jesus I do think its a awful stain on the country when people(forced or not)in their 60's are still working. These people should be spending their days traveling the world, seeing great works of art, reading the very best man has to offer, spending time with their family, etc. But instead they are stacking andrex toilet rolls.

I think a lot of older people (certainly the age in that video) are often lonely and have very few, if any, family and friends. So the ability to go to work and interact with people for a few hours a week helps prevent that feeling of loneliness.

Yeah it is different, I don't know if he'd want to work if he was a shelf stacker. He's a the closest example I know though. He just likes to keep himself busy.

Anyway enough about my dad, what's your underlying point on government policy because I probably agree. The reason I responded is I don't think you should use these people as an example without asking them because you might turn out to be wrong. Maybe they get a kick out of feeling useful in that way or to be involved in the community. Retirement isn't all that for a lot of people especially if they don't have much family to see.

Shutting down parliament and having a "peoples pmq's" on a private website is proper tinpot dictator stuff.

Who would have thought it happens so fast

Anytime anyone puts forward the 'stealing our jobs' argument the next question should always be 'and what line of work are you in yourself?'
The response would be something nonsensical about getting on with it.

The Times' Cameron chequebook scoop is pretty underwhelming. He names names I guess, but there is always that whiff of revisionist and bs lurking over any political memoir.
Sounds like he took some coercing to accept what was arguably his most laudable reform, same sex marriage tbh.

This line from Cameron on the Tory party raised an eyebrow, but is true I guess.

Class war was never our thing.

She'll be giving away season tickets next.
