Wesley Sneijder

And I reckon that I'll be the one that is right in the end. Pretty good for talking out of my arse.

Wait, are you using your own, yet unconfirmed, prediction to prove that you're right?

That's your opinion. I don't think he is. If he is then the likes of Frank Lampard (of 2 or 3 years ago), Ozil, Xabi Alonso, and many other players are. I still wouldn't give him 250k a week. If he deserves it then so does Nani, Vidic, Rio etc. We'd be mad to do it.

Being world class does not mean £250,000 a week. First of all Sneidjer is not asking that much. Lampard and Gerrard three years ago weren't they among the top 10 players in the world?

I stopped reading the articles a while ago because I thought they were trying to pull the wool over our eyes with what they were printing. Everyday we were '2-3 days away from a deal' or 'done by next friday'. Around that time all the talk was of £200-250k. That's all I have to go off.

I mentioned Lampard because the caf rip him to shreds. They then call Snaijder World Class. I think they're around the same level.

There is absolutely no proof that Sneijder wants or will get 250k a week so can we please stop using those ridiculous figures?

No proof, but common sense suggests he wouldn't want to downgrade too much from his already excessive pay packet at Inter.

Lists of highest paid players for 2011 (after Sneijder signed his new contract) show that Sneijder is nowhere in the top 10 while Rooney is in the top 5. Thus I really doubt he's on a 200k or above salary at Inter.

Where is this list then? I'd like to see it.

That only tells you how much they've made last year and what their net worth is, not what their footballing wages are. All those players in the top 10 list have some form of lucrative deal with a big company which could explain a substantial proportion of their annual earning.

Its possible Sneijder has a very high weekly wage but no big lucrative sponsorship deal to speak of, hence why he didn't make the top 10.

Since wages are rarely revealed - some people guess, some people say they have sources, when plenty of times they don't - everything is mostly guesswork. Even lists like that.

In any event, a player is worth what clubs are willing to give him. If Sneijder gets X at one club - one which is well off, but not City-like insane - then this is what you have to pay in order to get him. It's got nothing to do with what's he's done for our club, it's based on what he has done in football, his stature.

Are they still persisting with this crap. Sneijder won't join City. Nasri is all but signed. He's being linked with the only club that could afford the alledged wages for one reason.

Aguero
Nasri - Silva
Sneijder
Jong - Toure

:nervous:

Mancini did say they wanted to get a new winger and a new midfielder, when they revealed Aguero...

FFS Top it's Cerci, even Fiorentina confirmed they've rejected a bid for it.

If we're going on what Mancini said they need/want, then he's denied any interest in signing Sneijder on numerous occasions.

Btw Bob Cass has said that he's gonna sign before the deadline.

 I prefer my doom and gloom theory.

I'd like them to get Sneijder and tip their piss-taking of FFP over the edge in the eyes of UEFA, sparking a ban from Europe, mass exodus of mercenaries and eventually resulting in their sugar daddys walking away

Isn't that a little ironic? The players that apparently only play for money, leaving because they don't play in the Champions League?

DeJong Toure
Silva Sneijder Nasri
Aguero

Not gunna lie, that looks deadly.

However, I genuinely believe that he wont go to City. It'll be either us or he stays at Inter. From what he's said before, he wants to play for a massive european club, not some sugar daddy club who just broke into the CL.

Who knows though, tbh.

Roll on 31st August.

Money talks. Players can have their heads turned very easily. Why should he be any different to the likes of Toure, Silva and Aguero?

It honestly would not surprise me if they go for him

This pocco "person" is deranged. Driven around the bend by Sneijder. An unfortunate way to go.

...and so the enchanting nature of the Sneijder claims another beautiful muppet mind as victim! RIP pocco..

I'd posted an article in this thread earlier from Jan 2011 which was a list of only the wages paid to the players and Messi Ronaldo and Rooney were the top 3 with Sneijder nowhere in the top 10.

Lo and behold, there is a Cass article in the MoS

Sir Alex Ferguson will make one last attempt this week to land top target Wesley Sneijder.

The Manchester United manager will have been encouraged by Inter Milan’s unusual statement on their official website that their Holland midfielder had pulled out of training for ‘personal reasons’. They also stated he would not be available for Sunday’s prestige home friendly against Olympiakos.
