Impressive work.

That's good news. It's shaping up nicely this season, I'm looking forward to it. There's nothing better than see one of the younger players break through and now there's a few with a very good chance of doing so.

The muppets may be reeling right now, but soon enough they'll see why we didn't splash out when they're all drooling over the likes of Pogba and Morrison in our midfield.

I'm already drooling. Also it leaves us clear to sign Hamsik next season.

Lock this thread so we can all be freed from it's grip.

Why should it be locked? The transfer window doesn't close 'til August 31st & even Gill has said that things can change rapidly. Besides, I don't see why people pick on this thread when the rest of us have to tolerate unrestrained wumming elsewhere, as well as dull topics like 'Fabregas v Abbey Clancy', 'I've just made a Cheese Sandwich - Discuss' or 'I'm off to Jupiter on my hols - anyone know any clubs there?'

I agree but it does need to be locked soon until something more concrete turns up. To much has come from twitter in this thread, constantly repeating the same shite.

Why does any thread "need" to be locked. It's self evident that a fair few people enjoy reading and posting in it, what single reason is there to deny them that?

That's fine, mate, I understand that. :) But some balance is required, regarding how threads like this - and others - are 'judged'...often by people who take (comparitively) little part in them normally. Waving imaginary red cards to the mods isn't on, unless something offensive has been posted.

If true then I think, financially, it's the right decision. When even City baulk at the financial implications then you know it's a lot of money!

However, I do think we are getting carried away with the likes of Cleverley et al. He may step into the midfield and be a revelation but, from last season's evidence, it's more likely that he'll be 'solid' with the odd good game and a few anonymous ones.

I'm a massive fan of home grown talent over expensive big names, I just hope Cleverley isn't Macheda Mk2. I also hope Fletcher can recover from his 'virus'.

That I agree with, the anti muppet is the most annoying thing on this site (along with the "we have no money" brigade and the all new "that won't help us beat Barca" morons). I'd love us to sign Sneijder, he'd be an asset to any team. We can only go off what we know and Twitter is the worst bloody thing. I love the chase more than the capture in a way ( I've always maintaned the worst thing for a true muppet is getting your target ) yet it's been pointless speculating in this thread with whatever you've found as someone keeps popping up with a twitter counter, a bloody twitter counter.

To annoy you.

Cleverley's not a Macheda mark 2, He's not come from nowhere, he's been slowly developing that he now deserves his chance just as Gibson had last year. The player thats really caught my eye that I think has the incredible potential is Pogba and if not signing Sneijder has helped the lad join up with the first team then it's a great result. I can also see if this transfer goes through it will be in the final week.

There's some cracking newbies down there, none though are listed above.

Modric has been a success in the EPL and I think he is more what we need right now.

That said, he is a £25m player in my opinion, if you look at what Barca have just secured Fabregas for.

Unfortunately we put all our eggs in one greedy basket, and now it seems Modric is set on Chelsea whilst Nasri has settled for City

Stewart Gardner
SAF "there won't be any signings. There's all sorts of speculation but we're not making any moves in that direction

Shut it down captain.

I dont believe it. Scholes and gibson last season played more than 50 games between them. I cant see cleverley playing 50 games this season. I dont know if sneijder will sign or not but someone will imo

Whos left then? Defour is the only one I can think of.

gambit stop drooling over the prospect of us getting Hamsik next summer. It's not happening because we'll be signing Wesley in the next 18 days.

Sneijder >> Hamsik
