How am I meant to know its 2 days old when everyone is talking such fecking bollocks in this thread? I went three pages back and saw nothing.

feck sake this thread is an embarrassment.

3 pages is about 20 minutes.

Well I'm looking it at from the view point that we have improved the midfield. Cleverly looks set to feature as a regular now, Anderson has found some consistency, we can rely on these two for big games. They are young and hungry. Thats an improvement on last season. On top of that we have improved throughout the squad in other positions, Defence is so strong now, Attack, we have added Welbeck, and consider Young can play as a winger or attacking midfielder.. We have so many options.

I do tend to agree we are slightly light in central midfield and would love to sign Sneijder but if ferguson thinks we have improved enough to challenge then we have to put our faith in his judgement.

When has Anderson found that consistency you're talking about? What makes you think Cleverley is good enough right now not just to take on Gibson's mantle of the odd game here and there but really contribute, which is what we need as he's, in a way, in part, taking on some of the games both Scholes and Gibson played? Surely it's not pre season games. Those didn't save Veron or Obertan. They weren't enough to keep Cleverley himself around last season.

Welbeck and Young and great additions, but Young isn't a midfielder, maybe he can play behind the striker, it's not the same thing. Basically what we have is last year's midfield, minus Scholes and Gibson, plus Cleverley. Which means we're expecting a whole lot of improvement from within - one I don't think we have within us. Not enough, anyway.

It doesn't matter if we 'put faith' in Fergie's judgement or not. What he says, goes, obviously. But it's quite possible he targets someone and we still don't get him. Not signing anyone doesn't mean he isn't interested in a new player.

You could check the date of the article you post. "Last Updated: 09/08/11 at 17:37" - you thought you would be the first one to post it here when doing so one day later?

Possibly because the first sentence or so in what you posted says 'at the weekend'?

Why not? Why should so many people be discussing a player we haven't signed yet.

Regarding cleverly being ready, just call it a hunch. The way he played on sunday and the way he has played this pre-season has got my juices flowing! This kid sees the game so well, he is a pass and move player and plays the game the manchester united way. His technical ability and brain is far above gibsons and he knows how to make space to receive the ball. He always looks around before he receives the ball and looks to play the right pass quickly, i have seen a definite improvement in his game and dare i say a humble confidence in his ability to make things happen. He has all the attributes to be a playmaker for us. Granted his consistency levels will fluctuate but i think we have enough quality in the squad to compensate for this. If ferguson thinks he can count on him (as does martinez) then I agree with them, after all they are the professionals.

Anderson, towards the end of the season he was looking the part, he was making better decisions and getting his fitness at a good level, 90 minutes no longer was a problem. Pre-season he has started the same and Sunday he was great, we all know when he has a good game he is a top midfielder, the consistency was the problem, it looks like he is refining this. With games comes maturity and experience we are seeing improvements in the key areas where he has struggled before.

I am expecting a lot more from these 2 players this year and if ferguson doesn't sign another midfielder then its safe to assume so does. Am i right?

We have improved in attack with young and welbeck and this will mean they can take some more attacking responsibility.

Gibsons impact was pretty feeble, 9 starts i think Brwned said.

Im sure if ferguson wants a player he will get one, its whether he wants that player enough. And whether it harms the development of our other players.

I would love Sneijder dont get me wrong, I just dont think he is as necessary as first thought.

Really, we shouldn't let the "Wesley Sneijder update thread" die. The idea was perfect, people like Reapersoul could get what they wanted there, without any annoying additional comments.

According to this report, Inter will only sign Tevez on loan and are not interested in signing him on a permanent basis

Sky - Inter interessata a Tevez, ma in prestito - TUTTO MERCATO WEB

...another indication that they are skint..

Or perhaps Inter realize Tevez's mercenary status.

-2007: Complains and wants out of West Ham (Gets his way)
-2009: Feels harshly done and mistreated at United (He fecks off to City)
-2011: Despite his captaincy and multiple hints at an early retirement, he's seeking another transfer.

I m sure inter knew all about this, but initially they gave the impression that they wanted him to sign on a permanent basis - maybe they tried to give the impression that they are not so skInt.
However you dont need to be a financial wizard to realize that they need to have a surplus in the transfer market in order to minimize their losses. Apart from sneijder and eto they are also looking to offload another highearner - milito and maybe materazzi too.

Anyone can post articles there, it's still open. If this stupid thread is what people prefer though then that's all the people will get.

I don't want him, another squad member means more toilet paper to buy at Carrington. Not to mention the extra food in the canteen and the cost of extra training gear. feck sake we'll need to buy an extra exercise bike too. Won't the madness stop?

Verb surely? 'one of the few who doesn't Sneijder at United': The verb 'to sneijder' - possibly derived from 'to sneer'. As in 'I woulndn't sneijder at a salary of 100k per annum'.

The Schneider surname was generally adopted by one who made outer garments; a tailor. From the the German verb schneiden, meaning "to cut."

you guys are pathetic all this sneijder obsession. you think he will come to Manchester and will defeat barca on his own? the truth is Sneijder wont change a thing in match up vs Barca. They would not even take him on free transfer after they got Fabregas. They would say well Sneijder for free is a good deal, but we aint paying 200k wages for a guy who wont make our bench. And thats what sneijder is just some holland middle age dude whp wouldnt even make barcelona bench.

Why are you talking about Sneidjer going to Barca when he is linked with us?

He won't change a thing you say? It might not be drastic changes but he will certainly improve our team.

Some Holland middle aged dude? Where do you come up shit like this? Please please do tell me.
