Dutch journalist Van Der Kraan: "Sneijder will sign for Man Utd after England match."

and

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini confirmed the club are not interested and haven't discussed a move for Wesley Sneijder.

and

Sneijder is continually being linked with a move to Manchester United, while a report on Saturday suggested that Manchester City have also set their sights on the playmaker.

"All I know is that Inter need money and that I'm for sale if the right offer comes in. I have five days off after the international friendly against England on Wednesday. I expect clarity on my future by then," Sneijder said to Voetbal International.

The former Ajax and Real Madrid star then went on to discuss the interest from the Premier League champions and their city rivals but said that he hasn't held talks yet.

"I can be very brief about the interest from Manchester United and City: I haven't spoken with either of those two clubs, so I can't really say much about my future at the moment."

It's like we keep saying on here over and over again.... They need to sell Sneijder to rebuild!! But no one listens.

Inter want the money for Sneijder!!

Wait...is he dismissing it or not?

A lot can be read into Sneijder's comments. After what he said about Inter needing money, it'll look more than a little false to their fans if he stays & Inter make a fuss about how they never dreamed of selling Wes.

People really need to start listening to us muppets.

Indeed. Except for me though, because my posts are rubbish; as proven when I predicted that we'd beat Barca. :D

Cleverley-Anderson
-----Sneijder-------
Nani---------Young
------Rooney-------

Sheer muppetry yes.

But pinch me, please.

His agent was at the game today. Reports about Sneijder that he will sign for us after the England game doing rounds on twitter.

Well Fergie said he is not signing anyone till the community shield. Now that its over, lets see if we sign anyone.

That still does not make them Barcelona.

Barcelona don't play in our domestic league, and we may well not even face them this season. We don't need to base everything we do around how it will affect playing against them.

We might not need to play Barcelona this season, hopefully the curse of the CL will deal with them.

United v Real in the CL final?

I am not saying we are going to make it to final this year. There is always a possibility of meeting them before the final.

£20 mil. 100k a week......... take it or just feck off.......... I'm not that arsed

Great player...but his wage demands are excessive. There is a great risk it will destabilize the club because we have 90% of the players who do just as much work (if not more) and don't get that sort of money.

End of the day, he's class...but is he really worth 200k+ a week and 40 million? Not 100% sure anymore.

Yeah right. He is not an over rated English player.

not saying he's overrated, just why spend stupid money on someone who just might not improve us that much overall.

remember, next year Giggs will most proberbly retire. So money saved now will just help then. ( and maybe not for midfield with our young un's being more ready)

How are you so sure he won't improve our team?

Don't be fooled by this seemingly endless thread. Sneijder would definitely improve us. We would probably with the CL with a player of his caliber.

I hope he signs for City just to see the reaction of people on here, for the umpteenth time he's a great player but he's waaaaay too expensive and wouldn't improve us as much as some people on here make out. I also hope that Nasri saw the game today, he would be less expensive and more suited to our style of play if he mans up of course.

short term, just maybe, but at what cost? ....inc the cost money wise, but the holding back of other players.

I must admit, I'm a little on the fence here to start with, but I don't like the idea of spunking money we don't need to, and would much rather look long term

I presume you mean Cleverly? how old is he, by the way?

I don't think Sneijder would necessarily hold Cleverley back (I know you're not suggesting he would either) it could only help his development really, considering the play style is quite similar. Although Cleverley does put in a fantastic shift and works defensively quite well too.

21. He's still a sperm, and he's got a long way to go before becoming a regular, I hope we don't unfairly expect him to be the new the best midfielder of all time. Or something. Sneijder would be great for us...and I'm sure Fergie'll do the right thing by gradually bringing through Cleverly. Interesting times that's for sure.

Spoons can't google, this has been proven

He knows some things, about like the ancient Assyrians and Naughty By Nature and shit, but as far as finding new things out goes he's completely helpless

I'm great at using the A to Z.

In yer face new technology.
