Wesley Sneijder

Ferguson on Sneijder to the Daily Mail: "If he wants to come then he must accept our contract offer."

EDIT: what he said.

The article is written by Bob Cass apparently Fergie's close friend.
Now I was sceptical of him when he wrote that last article about Fergie conceding Nasri to City as all the other newspapers were reporting different things, however later Fergie said the same thing in the press conference.

If not we have other options in mind

This line indicates that we will sign a midfielder in the window.

I think it's obvious we're in for Sneijder but that's basically SAF saying 'take the offer, or just feck off'.

Hopefully something will come of this, we'll just wait and see. Have a feeling it's going to drag out that bit longer.

For fecks sake Sneijder stop being a greedy cnut and sign the fecking contract you fecking dutch cnut

Would love to know who the other targets are. Many have said maybe someone whom we have not even discussed is who we will end up getting...

Atleast we're after Sneijder, that much is confirmed.

yep, although I never really doubted we were since mid June-ish

I kindve still do have doubts we will seal it though. Its going to be a long road this August

Did he really say that?

Wow. Some change from the "can't see another addition".

Looks a typical quote that's been put out of context by an opportunistic journo.

If this boils down to Sneijder just not being too enthusiastic about moving to Manchester then feck him. He'd be no use to us unless he really wants to play for us.

Kind of doubt that Fergie would discuss a contract offer like that though.

The way it's worded has my bullshit detector going off. If it was a direct quote it would be something like:

Ferguson said: 'The boy is a fantastic talent. We expect him to be a key player this season.

Which is how a direct quote is done halfway through the article. Instead it's just a quote sandwiched between two paragraphs mentioning SAF and not really saying who said it, if its genuine its lazy journalism.

I've just noticed the article is by Bob Cass - famously one of Sir Alex's friends in the media.

Any article loses its credibility when they come up with shit like
"Sneijder earns almost £250,000 a week at Inter"

If he means wages then its completely wrong and if he means wages+bonuses+image rights, then its completely misleading.

In short, feck you Bob Cass

That gave me hope as well, but the article then goes on to seemingly indicate he's just talking about Anderson.

Bob Cass is Fergie's friend, if you've read his biography. He usually has the inside scoop on things.

A real ITK  Didn't think one existed to be honest.

Anyway, seems like Sneijder has a decision to make and judging by the fact that he declined to get interviewed today he's probably mulling things over at the moment. Hopefully he'll choose right.

Out of interest does this mean we've agreed a fee for Sneijder? Or could Inter have simply give us permission to talk to him?

As well balanced as we've always been with wage structure I really hope we're not that stubborn in caving to Sneijder's demands, he's World class, give him the dollar...

If that's the case then I expect him to stay at Inter, what's he going to do suddenly drop his wage demands? Unlikely IMO.

Yeah, it is likely that he'll stay there. If his wages are as high as has been reported I could see how it would be difficult giving up the money. Pretty good team as well and the fans seem to love him. But, I remain hopeful until the whole thing plays out.

Fergie's apparently denied having made the comments, calling it "nonsense" and saying he hasn't discussed it.

Apparently he had a go at a journalist after the match over it in the mixed zone.

.

Don't think that's the case, think he is a greedy cnut, and most likely having issues with his pride (and most likely the pride of that golddigger wife of his) to be accepting a seriouse net wage decrease...

The quotes were part of an 'off the record' conversation between saf on and his mate bob. Bob has been struggling for exclusives recently and has a family to feed, it wad a tough decision for him but he thought it was worth risking his relationship with saf over. Strange decision.
