If we have a player of the the importance of Sneijder lined up, I doubt Gibson holding out for fecking 40,000 a week is going to hold things up.

Basically I think journos are being played by agents from both sides. The journos are ofcourse more than willing to be used as it fills up valuable inches in the sports sections.

Nah that has just been twisted by the press for the convenience of the article. It was between Zidane and Poborsky going into Euro 96 as we were scouting both, Zidane was injured while Poborsky was excellent for a surprise package Czech Rep. The rest is history.

Not a myth. If you read Fergie's diary from 1996/97 which he himself wrote, he was considering buying Zidane to play as a right winger because he felt Beckham would eventually be a central midfielder.

He then went and bought Poborsky. :(

If there is indeed no interest in Sneijder and with Nasri ruled out I suspect the next thing we'll hear from Fergie will be that our business this window is done

Until we hear that though I'll assume there is an interest in Sneijder, it's just not anywhere near done yet

The muppet in me thinks Thiago and Martinez are the players United should be looking at signing. I can well understand why United are reluctant to invest a 100 Million on Sneijder over the length of his contract.

do not know if S.A.F. has many years left to develop up-and-coming players to achieve more Premiership & C.L. glory. No, I am not against them. Perhaps an established player & someone you've mentioned are great & well-balanced.

The bossman wants an established player after investing in plenty of youth this summer. I think he's right to go for one big one, it generates excitement amongst the fans AND the other players

Imminent is an interesting choice of words with a month and a half left of the window. We're going all the way to the deadline with this one then.
 
Not the ideal timing for something like this, considering the decrepit condition some of you are in but just came across this. Highlights from Inter's first game in their pre-season. Assist for the second goal and a good pass in the build up to the first.
