Wesley Sneijder

Holland coach Bert van Marwijk wants Wesley Sneijder to move to Manchester United.

The Inter Milan star is the subject of intense talks between the two clubs this week.

"A transfer to Manchester United would only make Wesley a better player. He has already played for some top clubs in Real Madrid and Inter, but I think that United will be another step forward for him," Van Marwijk told Voetbal International.

"Because of their footballing philosophy and the level they play at, but also because it’s a new challenge. It will inspire him and give him new energy."

The coach then went on to explain that a transfer to Manchester United would not only be in Sneijder's best interest, but would also be positive for Oranje.

"It will also be good for the national team. Manchester United’s style of play is more similar to the way we play than Inter’s. Wesley gets the ball in a deeper position in Oranje than with his club. We get him involved in our build-up play and also in our opponents’ half. That’s where he’s at his best with his through passes and long distance shots.

"He plays a lot higher up the pitch in Italy and often has to fight against five or six defenders. I can see Wesley making the same impact at United as with Oranje. I think that he would fit in very well."

Half these journalists didn't dare write about this story in their articles and that's because they know it's bullshit.

The Times, the Telegraph and the Mirror certainly did... That's one hack of a thing to do with someone they 'know' is bullshit.

Gian Piero Gasparini: "Sneijder wants to have a good season. He is working hard, we'll see what happens along the way."

Reading that, that's the most accidental royal assassination I've ever heard of. So the guys throwing grenades couldn't hit the car, until one guy hit the car. And hurt, but not killed, a few of the attendants of the intended targets. And then the assassin... what? Waited out on the street hoping that they would drive past, when the driver takes a wrong turn to the hospital to visit the wounded?

This stuff wouldn't make for a very believable movie plot.

Still more believable then the rumours that we're in for Sneijder.

Howard Nurse is a cock!!

Read his twitter shite at your peril.

He sounds like a journo sap. If you want to spread shite, tell fat Howard!!!

Jesus man, we got a little lucky last season that our rivals kept chokin. 9pts is extremely flattering & Chelsea, Arsenal & City will be strengthening aswell...

The other point is - would that same team be capable of beatin Barcelona? Not bloody likely mate!

I just think the fee and wages involved seem excessive for a 27-year-old player who's produced one top-class season of football in his career.

The figures bandied about are the kind you'd pay for a guy who's done it over a sustained period. Someone like Fabregas.

As for the strengthening of the squad: we've already outlayed nearly £50m on players. We're in good shape. Hopefully Anderson'll push on and start to fulfill the potential he has. Fletcher still has to come back. Our midfield really isn't bad...Barcelona would make any midfield look inadequate.

I'm not Jewish personally but there is no doubt that this man is inviting courtship. These are not the words of a man who is hell bent on keeping a player.

Everytime he talks about Sneijder you get the sense that he won't be adverse to letting him go.

Who believed @TransferUpdate

Then again, you quoted a tweet from goal.com's chief executive ;)

Even though Fergie hates the BBC, they are clearly more reliable than a lot of the 'journalists' (using that lightly) that claim there's definite interest in this.

It has just clicked in my mind. It's a simple hypothetical syllogism.

Edit:

If Fergie hates the BBC, he will feed them lies.
If he feeds them lies, the BBC will feed you lies.
Therefore if Fergie hates the BBC, the BBC will feed you lies.

I'm sure he's a nice chap and everything, but he posts like an ADHD kid who's forgotten to take his Ritalin.

To the Sneijder's Mum thread!

Mad, you've sussed it.

It's back on.

Hundreds of #MUFC fans asking if I was wrong with #Sneijder story. My reliable Old Trafford source told me: "We are not in for Sneijder."
46 seconds a

Right he has just posted this.

So it's not the CLUB telling him stuff, it's a "source". i.e. some spotty 20 year old admin assistant that knows feck all.

His credibility has slightly reduced IMO

In his earlier tweet he said that the club has told him that, however now his very reliable source has told.

In his earlier tweet, I reckoned somebody official from the club has told him this. That's why I didn't bother posting in this thread but certainly now his tone has changed.
