I hope our scouts are on it, because Coleman or Clyne would be fairly expensive.
Not convinced either would be an improvement either.
Im sure theres better full backs out there but im pretty happy with valencia tbh.

They'd only be a significant upgrade because they'd be less injured than Rafael, so I'm still unsure it'd be worth our while spending big money of 'em. I'd imagine there's cheaper alternatives somewhere in Europe. Not convinced either would be an improvement either.

Nah, we'll certainly bring in a right back, it's widely reported as a position of urgency. Valencia will feature as our back up. Rafael will be regretfully sold and McNair could well find himself out on loan.
I think the same.Valencia,Janko and/or McNair might be our RB options for next season though I'm not really sure if it won't turn out to be a disaster. We still managed to survive with a rash 19-20 years old Rafael in the past so it's not the worst scenario.
Clyne has one year on his contract so £20m should be realistic.
Why not get a natural right back ?I think we should buy John Stones and have him fill in at RB when Valencia/Rafael are injured or unavailable.
It mightn't be popular but I still think Phil Jones is a better RB than CB.
Nope his ankles would crumble into dust
From the extra running? Or do full backs get more ankle injuries than CBs for some reason?
He may well want to give those 2 young players a chance with Valencia as his sturdy safety net, it's not that weak a position IMO and if we had top quality at RCB I think it would greatly help out whichever of the RB's we use.

I don't understand why are people so impressed.McNair has really impressed me when given the chance at right back he looks good with the ball at his feet and defends well he also has some descent pace in him. If he is given time I think he could develop into a really good fullback.
And I don't think it is so needed to buy RB, Rafael is still our best player and if he can play 25 games a season the rest can play Valencia and Young, both written off before the season player will come handy I guess, Young can alter between left and right if possible..
I think he'll play them in the pre-season and make a final judgement whether he'll want a new RB.Don't think he will buy one early this time round. He will buy a striker first IMO (and a CB with Evans is shipped out early).
Agreed.Let's not do the whole 'screw up the best centre-back prospects by playing them at fullback' thing again.
Dani Alves, or Coleman. I still think Rafeal is a very valuable player, and hope LvG keeps him at the club.
Clyne is nothing special.
I can't believe there are still people who are thinking we don't need a new right-back
He'll be on a Bosman. Can't be that bad a player having been at Barcelona for many years. He still has a few years at the very top.Dani Alves? Come on Sultan ffs
He's on the decline and would probably only come for the money. I really hope Van Gaal isn't considering this. He'll be on a Bosman. Can't be that bad a player having been at Barcelona for many years. He still has a few years at the very top.

OkAt what? Barcelona wants to get rid of him despite having no actual right back and transfer ban (sort of). Montoya is leaving aswell and that Douglas (?) is amateur level player. They play Pedro as right back.
A rb... What about a striker,cb,cm and a winger... No more need for a rb than these positions.
