We are an awfully coached team

Absolutely at his limit, he has no idea what to do with his players. He has to go, while he has some stock left.

As someone who has supported Ole even I have to say that was a sackable performance. He has to be in the hot seat now.

Heheh, what do you consider backed enough? For selecting Fred alone every time is a sackable offense to me.
I'm taking the piss, you could see last year that Ole doesn't have a fecking clue but every top red and arm chair manager expert on here was telling us how we were making progress, what progress? He's done well to rebuild that squad but he's not a coach or a manager but he'd make a good DoF though.

We don't hit the minimum level often enough, tactically you can't really see what our aim is and that's pretty astonishing given how long he's been in charge.

Listen, result apart, this was a shocking, utterly shocking performance. Even if we won, these types of performances catch up to you- I said that two weeks ago. We haven’t looked good at all this year besides the leeds game. He’s not a good tactician- fine, but at least be brave? There is no excuse to play McFred today, against Villa at home, but the guy has no balls at all. There has been 0 progress from last year. None.

Also, before the “he’s changed the squad” nonsense starts. Okay then lets make him the director of football, not the bloody manager.

We have a 70 million euro winger on the bench, but we persist with shoving Pogba into the team like a square peg in a round hole. Final straw for me that, he's a lovely man but he's not good enough to win us trophies.

There’s just no standards at the club. No accountability.
Speaking of accountability, I was going to post the other day that Fred keeps being awful and keeps getting started regularly. It’s not accountability, it’s unfair favoritism.

I still don't know how anyone ever thought 100m was going to unlock good passing. Videogame logic.

Not just Ole, the entire coaching staff needs to be sacked immediately.

The only decent coach after SAF era was Rui Faria.

Yeah, Ole is fecked. I'm so sorry but it is time to go for a nice guy. Team is neither mentally nor physically ready. We are disjointed and mentally fragile team.
Look at the quality of players we have. Should be MORE than enough to win against this Villa side. Players under/over hitting simple 2 yard passes. Nothing about this performance looks like we are a well coached team.
We've spent untold millions on new recruits. Why don't we spend that and get in a proper manager who knows what he's doing.

I'm sorry but if a team plays with two holding midfielders and one of the best midfielders in the world and that team is still being dominated in midfield, the fault no longer lies with the midfielders on the pitch, but rather on the coaching team.

No progress and yet we have added quality to the squad. Cant understand how people cant see that Ole is the weak link.

The funniest thing is, if we have managed to fluke win this shit game, the folks here would be mocking everyone and telling us we're a great team tactically..etc.

Quality control
Why on earth did Glazers give this moron a 3 year contract extension? Sack him. Get Conte in and the title is still possible.

He's gone. With the squad we have, we should be playing a lot better than this.
I wish it was true, and if we have genuine aspirations this season objectively he should (6/8 opening games been dire performances). Sadly I don't know how he goes this quickly.

Managerial changes have never happened quickly under the Glazers. I feel as though he'll have to lose the squad, and free-fall before it happens.

We have a world-class squad with a bang average coaching team.

Now isn't the time to change and I'm sure Ole will get the season unless it goes drastically wrong as he'll fall back on the Semis he's made ect...

I'm a big fan of Ole the man but he just doesn't seem good enough for this level.

It hurts today but there will be more days like this I'm afraid. I would have loved to see Ole take us to a title, it could still happen but I doubt it.

He is running out of excuses.

How can a team with this much attacking talent play this bad.. sorry but the guy has no clue. Relies too much on individual talent and penalties.

Lets be real here for one second, he’s never gonna be the man to take us to dominating the premier league or the champion league so why is he here? We’ve tried it and it hasn’t worked. In my opinion it’s inevitable that he gets sacked, they’re just waiting for a good enough excuse to do so.

City have Pep, Chelsea have Tuchel, Liverpool have Klopp and we have an unproven manager alongside an unproven coach, an U18’s manager and Fergies old assistant. Just night and day in quality.

If at the very least the players looked like they have an idea of what to do other than hopeful shots/long balls I'd be satisfied. If that was a goalless draw but the performance wasn't as horrible I'd be totally fine. But at this point questions need to be asked. Against Villa at home, same formation that has been played multiple times, same weakness getting exposed. As I said multiple times, if we can't control the midfield you don't need 4 top attackers to score against Villa. Why not revert to a 3 man midfield. Take some control.. you know, like a proper home team.

He isn't up to it. I don't care how many 'Top Reds' and their little untouchable mates run around the Cafe trying to shame people who dare to say it. Too many fans have been in wilful denial of his limitations for far, far too long.

 As if a midfield of Fred and/or McTominay could win the title. It's farcical United didn't sign a midfielder this summer.

The most depressing fact is that a lot of people here have accepted mediocrity and will still defend this.
After the bad performance against Southampton, people ran to celebrate our away record while completely ignoring how clueless our players looked on the pitch snd how we were only saved by a moment of individual brilliance by Greenwood.

In my opinion it’s inevitable that he gets sacked, they’re just waiting for a good enough excuse to do so.

If that's the case, why the contract extension?

It's not like Madrid, Dortmund or even Cardiff would be queuing up for him.

To be fair Sancho's been shit, just another in the long line of hyped of signings everyone wanted but turns out to be well out of his depth.

Not a chance the owners sack him any time soon. Only chance that happens is if the fans start turning on him, and as much as a legend as he is, more performances like this and the tide will turn against him.

To me it feels like we haven’t had a manager that makes attacking a priority since Fergie. We’ve had a collection of boring managers with varying levels of success. I’d love to see us go for someone that can get this team scoring goals every week, the pieces of the puzzle are there.

It's laughable really. Like, so obvious even at a casual glance. I love Ole the United legend but he's so far out of his depth at this job. The sooner we put him out of his misery the better for everyone. We're at risk of wasting another season. This time after adding so much quality. Shame.

We will get a good result soon and everyone will be shouting about how great he is again.

The odd good result doesn’t gloss over his obvious limitations.

We have our best players in years - I really hope itdoesn’t go to waste.

Our play is really poor. We can't get the simple things right and Ole is insisting on starting players who just don't perform well either

Ole’s vision would have been great in the 90’s. These days you need to program your players to follow gameplan. Ole’s belief to let players sort the game by themselves is outdated as feck.

Absolutely. This 'we have world class attacking players so inshallah' brand of football, like you said, is outdated as feck.

We have a criminally underused DVB on the bench. Ole is too limited a manager to use him properly.

Also a double defensive pivot at home to villa. What cowardly tactics.
