10 years ago he was good enough to persevere with. Now he isn't so we'd be waiting for feck all. He's finished.Rooney needs a few games to get at his best. It was true 10 years ago. It is true now.
He ruined quite a few counterattack img opportunities on Sunday. I am just tired.
According to The Sun, the club have told him to forget about a new contract.

....and doesn't have the pace or power to continue his run up the line.Looks up and no one is in front of him.
I thought he had a good game, he was involved in a few of our chances, scored 1, linked up with zlaten well, his passing was efficient enough. He was not amazing or bad, but he was a threat, and what we need this season he could be important, next year is another matter. He will slowly be a transition out of the team has Pogba's influence grows and grows, but for now Mourinho is smart enough not gutting the entire set up.

I can't imagine Hazard, Ozil, Mane, De Bruyne or Eriksen losing he ball so easily in that situation.

I can't imagine Hazard, Ozil, Mane, De Bruyne or Eriksen losing he ball so easily in that situation. Not to mention the main creator for second tier teams in the PL - Barkely, Mahrez, Shaquiri, Tadic?
Its hurting us; having the player who plays in the most dominant position for creating chances being slow, having a bad touch and dribbling.Pretty much. Should have gone for it. Of course he can't though. And he knows it.
It's a forum where posters provide their opinions on a range of matters? Have I misunderstood what we all do here?Who cares what you can imagine? Fact is, Rooney was boxed off by four Bournemouth players, where if he carried on, would most likely had ran into a dead end. He tried to cut back because thats where Mata and Ibra were. Although, if we had someone running the channels, he would I have probably played it down the line.
Instead of turning into the defenders path, he should have spun left. Your right about his reaction though. In the GIF above there really isn't much Rooney could have done in that situation as he was completely on his own. However his reaction to losing the ball there is disappointing, 6 years ago he would have run like a lunatic to get the ball back instead of just standing there and complaining.
Looks up and no one is in front of him.
2 games one goal one assist, 1700 whinging comments. We really do know how to support our club legends.
Ha, well said. The irony isnt it? Rooney apparently slow the play down, yet he is the one the highest up the field during that attack, where was everyone else?

Liverpool supported their club legend Stevie till the end, that worked out well. Whether or not he's a club legend doesn't make him exempt from criticism.
Can we please stop calling that 5 yard pass to Lingard, before the lad ran 30+ yards through the Leicester defense, an assist. It was a solo goal. This further adds fuel on how stats obsucre the truth about rooneys 'play'.
Should we forget both of martials too then? Poor season he is having then. Definitely sell.
How has Paul Stretford managed to open so many accounts on the Caf?
The delusion is real
Gerrard in the season before his final season nearly guided Liverpool to the title and got an unbelievable amount of assists and goals at the age of about 35.

So far he has had about 60 and we are still waiting.Rooney needs a few games to get at his best. It was true 10 years ago. It is true now.
Except it was Suarez who did it and as soon as he left, they became crap almost instantly.
Remember Massimo Cellino was paying someone £500 to pedal the bullshit narrative - that everything was all rosy at Leeds - wouldn't be surprised if Rooney was doing it. He's got the hacks all singing to his tune anyway!
If that was Rashford in his position, what would have happened?Looks up and no one is in front of him.
Martial had one terrible shot going wide. Rooney scored it. Martial made a simple pass to ibra 40 yards out who proceeded to produce a great long distance finish, am I missing something?
These so called pro Rooney posters have either migrated from mumsnet or should I say nansnet, or they're undercover rawkers taking the mick. I refuse to believe Manchester United fans can be so damn deluded.. no one can be that poor at reading the game. Everyone goes through a phase where you support a player not good enough for United, feck me I had a soft spot for Anderson.. but eventually I realised it is a lost cause and he needs to go. Rooney is such an obvious case, he doesn't even have those wonder games where you could think.. wait maybe he still has it. He's been gloriously shite for ages.
As for the media, I am stunned as to how he has his fat fingers in so many pies.. it is like once Fergie left, he has just completely ran the show.
This isn't a Martial thread. And you've just acted to further prove my point people will throw others under the bus to absolve Rooney of any wrong. In this case one of the few bright spark from our last season
Martials pass to Ibra doesn't count as an assist in my eyes. The shot wide directly made the goals scoring opportunity for Rooney so it should count as an assist. As opposed to Lingard who created his own.
I have no desire to further split hairs about what counts as an assist with a Rooney fan boy. The fact you criticise martial as a defense for Rooney is nothing short of pathetic.
