He is though.

He is part of the problem but people thought we would automatically improve after dropping him, that didn't quite happen like that. Our problems are far more complex than this.He is though.
He really isntReactions on here are way over the top as usual. I understand Jose bringing him on, depite his general play, he's still more likely to come up with a goal or assist than most of our other options.

We did gradually improve after that, but it wasn't as simple as people made out. We had and still have many other positions that need sorted and issues rectified. Many naively thought, as soon as Rooney is dropped everything will automatically fall into place. I wish it was that easy.Haven't we just been on our longest unbeaten run for years? After he became a sub.
I'm not drawing any conclusions from that but it's certainly the case that we've improved since he became a squad player. Not every single get has been an improvement but the overall trend has been.

Needs a higher role so he can use his shot and the moves to finish those chances..
Well I can't be sure if they difinitively thought that and I don't have any direct quotes. But I remember people drooling over the front 6 without Rooney assuming it will automatically work out even being world class. Many? I doubt you can find one post that says that. Quote it if you can.

In anycase almost nobody blames entire performances on him. One poster comes in, says he's being scapegoated and then others just run with it.
He really isnt
Maybe that's because the other players aren't clearly over the hill. They might have the odd bad game (and get criticised for it) but generally the good games outweigh the bad.As much? No with the absolute hate? No, they are not
Even a blind squirrel finds the odd nutHe did against Stoke, to be fair.
Those 17 matches unbeaten run consists of 12 wins and 5 draws. Rooney started in 8 of the 12 wins, and none of the draws.

Boring salary same old same old not worth going into, sense of entitlement that a lot of people all presume and probably doesn't have yip heard it before, I don't think any of our players have been consistent performers but the only player who does get consistent abuse is Rooney.Maybe that's because the other players aren't clearly over the hill. Rooney however is clearly done and plays like a raffle winner almost every single match, and has done for three years. Add to that his sense of entitlement, salary and hypocritical history (what would he have said in 2010 had Fergie kept playing a 2014-2017 Rooney as his teammate?) and it's no surprise he gets more criticism than the rest.
We improved when we stopped playing lingard and rashford on the wings, rashford has been back in the team the last few games on the left and we look like a blunt spoon. We did improve without him tho
It was also Herrera's cross to Smalling which set up the Mata chance. Rooney would've been lauded as the second coming of Scholes for that.
Some people are just too sensitive of any criticism of Rooney. I'm not saying this is true but I won't be surprised if his PR people actually employ people to register on forums like these to defend him.
We did improve without him tho
Our bad results so far this season consist of 6 losses and 9 draws. Rooney started in only 3 of the 6 losses, and not even once in the 9 draws. He was also missing when we suffered our heaviest defeat of the season at Stamford Bridge. Some improvement that was.
United twitter says he was ill.Any news on why he wasn't even in the squad?

Seems to be 'ill' alot this season. Is it just a way to drop him without causing controversy?
The first thing I thought after the reports come out.Seems to be 'ill' alot this season. Is it just a way to drop him without causing controversy?
