Solid counter.
Where is my error?
Solid counter.
I've already told you. I can't be arsed discussing this anymore.Where is my error?
Tonight taught you that Schneiderlin Herrera and Pogba should continue in midfield? I'm not even going to bother.
I've already told you. I can't be arsed discussing this anymore.
Herrera was voted motm by the cafe with Schneiderlin coming in 4th but yeah okay whatever, we had balance in our midfield, Pogba was free to do his stuff. That is the whole point of dropping Rooney, our biggest problems tonight were our forwards and full backs.
Yeah that was a very balanced display, we really stayed on the front foot. Freeing Pogba up to slide the ball back to them should be an important feature of our play going forward.
I didn't say it was a balanced display, I said we had balance in our midfield. Didn't say we were excellent, didn't say we created a hat full of chances, didn't say we stayed on the front foot, didn't say Pogba played well, literally just said we had a balance in our midfield which will never happen with the Fellaini-Pogba-Rooney trio in it.
Refer back to this thread after one game. Go on, I'll wait.
We've had two seasons of Rooney being below average at best, we've had one game of him out of the team right now. Bit of a difference between the two.
He had a medium term injury last season. Check our form then,
New manager, new chance for the players, look at Fellaini, nobody was willing to give Rooney a chance despite him playing well so far this season, especially if you compare him to our other forwards minus ibra.
He hasn't really though, has he? I mean he's managed to be involved in a few goals, and he was okay at the weekend against City but his overall performances have been incredibly average: he hasn't produced what anyone could describe as an excellent performance yet, or even a very good one.
I said well.
And I said he's been average - that wouldn't be him playing well. I'd struggle to term his overall game this season as him playing well, unless actively not being terrible is now enough to qualify.
No but helping us score goals, win games, and look better with him in the team does.
Have we really looked any better with him in the team? Tonight might just be the worst we've looked...but then that'll no doubt be partly down to the fact that we also dropped Zlatan, Shaw and other usual players. I don't think Rooney's done anything of note to enhance the quality of the team when he's been in it.
The team was setup to do well without him. Pogba got to start in a 3 man midfield where he's apparently brilliant and Mata, Rashford and Martial started which is what everyone wanted. Rooney is the one who holds this team back so why was this one of our worst peformance in 4 years?
Link midfield and attack which nobody did tonight. Yes we genuinely looked worse than LVG united tonight. Against city we were outclassed for forty minutes but that's against a very good team and we eventually got a foothold. Tonight we would not have scored if we were still playing right now.
Rooney doesn't really do it either. He's not go the ability or energy to either take it past players in tight spaces to create an effort, or to drop back and press the opposition midfielders effectively. The Rooney of 2010/11 and sometimes in 2011/12 was a superb link between attack and midfield: a goalscorer and hard worker who both pressed and created. That's not the case now.
Rooney haters in hiding now
Because we lost a game without him?
Some posters here celebrating as if we won the league, just cause we played shit today without Rooney. They truly seem to care more about Rooney than MUFC.
Who the hell celebrates when Rooney plays badly? What sort of nonsense is that? Everyone here would love Rooney to roll back the years and become a world beater. People are fed up of years of poor performances and vent their frustration about it, so stop trying to twist things in to something they're not.No mate, there's a feck load more people celebrating in this thread when Rooney has a shocker even when United win.
Don't bring logic into it, that's just not fair.Since when has one game proved anything?
The logic, or lack of it in this thread is painful.

Yep. They are all stuck in the post match thread trying to claim 'it was those wingers folt'Rooney haters in hiding now
I'm curious how many of you folks thought "this game's going badly, if only we'd have Rooney..." he'd send 1 or 2 of those delicious diagonals to the right wing
