Shocking game from him so far. Doesn't make the runs. Doesn't play the right pass (why ignore Nani??). Not on the same wavelength as Mata and Kagawa...and what do we do? Pay him £300k and make him captain. Moyes is a joke.

Its comical. You can see he's programmed to look out wide. I dont know why the feck he's trying to be the playmaker when we have 2 of them on the pitch.

Awful performance, I would take him off, but I don't think Moyes will do it. All the "It's a new Rooney, Moyes get the best out of him" was just wrong, it's the same old Rooney we seeing every year. World class on one day, shocking on the next.

Sorry for Rooney fans. I hope Moyes has some balls to bench Rooney before it's too late. He's not playing good at all today. And I can't believe we pay him for 250k per week

He ruined pretty much our every decent move by making awful decisions(mostly passing it diagonally to the right).

There was that period where he kept passing the the ball to Everton plaayers and we kept winning it(three times in a row), and eventually the won it and caught us on break and won that penalty. Someone gif that please.

Btw he can't play as lone striker like this, he isn't even trying to run behind the defence. It's really strange with him, when he is playing behind the striker he plays to high up the pitch, but when he is alone he drops to deep.

Same.

I cant fecking stand him, like physically makes me ill, knowing that we're pretty much building our team around this sack of shit.
He's not good enough anymore, he's so slow on the turn its embarrassing, ugly first touch, constantly picking the wrong passes.
Sick of his shit, slow, dinosaur off the ball movement. He plays as a number 9 he drops too deep and drops into a number 10 role. He plays as a number 10, he completely fails to influence the game because he's too fecking stupid to understand the mechanics of the role.
What's the point? Give me Welbeck or Hernandez any day, they'll make runs, they'll stretch defences and you know what even if they don't, they're not on 300k a week and they don't believe they're gods gift to football.

People don't really understand how badly he makes us play at times. They think because his stats(largely attributed to free kicks and corners) are good that automatically means he's doing some sort of super job.

You are an idiot.

Needs to come off for Welbeck. But there's essentially no chance of Moyes making that change.

He's playing like a pub player who downed a few pints before the game.

Can't sub him off though cos he scored a great goal against City once after being shit all game.

Oh so now the penalty is Rooneys fault.. you're all mad.

There was about 90 metres and 16 players between Rooney's intercepted pass, and Jones conceding the penalty. Conclusion: it's the centre forward's fault!

Would love to see him get a goal or two now, just to shut half of these scapegoating haterz up.

When he plays like this, it's difficult to watch. He's meant to be the man we look to for goals in games like this. None of the other three attackers have been brilliant but they are struggling to connect with Rooney. And the obvious passes he has ignored on 2 or 3 occasions in dangerous areas have underlined our woeful attacking play.

I'll always prefer van Persie as the man to lead the line for us. And I'm not one of the people who changes my mind game to game...I'll always maintain that when fit he is the one. Obviously that can't be helped today, but I do not like Wayne Rooney as our main forward in these types of games.

Even if he scores five goals it won't change our opinions of him being shit in the first half.

I expect to suffer through this performance for the full 90. 300/week, brilliant.
He's not on 300k a week. Pretty sure his new contract isn't actually that different from his old one directly from the club, it's more added on because of sponsors. Though that doesn't suit the agenda people have against him so nobody will mention it.

Seriously, though. Why hasn't the Juan Mata thread been opened since the games started? He's been robbed in possession of the ball a few times today. I guess it the lack of movement up top, though.

I actually feel sorry for Mata. Everyone looks to him to unlock something but he can't do it all alone. There's no movement ahead and he's having to come deep as no one is carrying it forward.

Players like Mata and Kagawa are very different to the likes of say a Hazard. They need a team around them, some movement. It isnt happening atm.

Mata is looking for those Hernandez runs he had against Newcastle. Having Rooney on his toes asking for the ball isnt helping at all. :(

Hernandez in 25 seconds has shown more than Rooney has done in 60+ min.

Yes Hernandez will be sold and Rooney is going to be our next captain.

Bloody hell

Classic Rooney really.

Fantastic form boarding on world class, gets injured and looks like a league one striker.

It's not the fact he's been poor that's annoying, it's more the fact that he's got this protective glass around him with his new contract and Moyes generally pandering to whatever he wants. That's the sort of stuff you only think about doing at big clubs with players on the very, very top level, such as Ronaldo and Messi. Performances like today show he's not deserving of being held above everyone else on a pedestal. He's a superb footballer overall and a great player to have, but Moyes is turning him into someone who's bigger than the club when that should just not be the case with him.
