glad he's signed, terrific goal today, and if you saw him exchange shirts at the end of the match today you noted there's nothing fat about him...except perhaps his wallet.
Thats less than 1 every 2 games. Very poor. No where near the stats of his peers.Thats a great record to be fair.
Well some people care more about the club than their favourite players.Rooney signing the new contract was lovely news for me, and the icing of the cake of it was seeing the likes of Ruud_boy_10 hating/seething
I LOVE IT.
Wow.He's done f*** all for the last 3 years, so no I havent forgotten.

Its not a coincidence that the 2 seasons rooney scored 30+ goals we won F*** all.Wow.
You're right, he's been awful this season and we're in 6th because of him, or 2 years ago he most definitely didn't score 34 goals that season. Or the season before that he didn't lead us into the champions league final and score in it against Barca, or score in other big games against Chelsea a few times and against City to help us win the league. Or last season he didn't score twice in a 3-2 win against City. I must have imagined all of that, or dreamt it.
When you are the highest paid player in europe then you better be above average. When you compare it to someone like Ruud, or Raul, Messi etc yes.
But there are a lot of great strikers with similar or worse ratios Morientes, Eto'o Crespo to name a few its a decent ratio for CL.

Just don't even bother, the guys on an obvious wum. Either that or he knows nothing.Do you remember the squads he played in, while posting this numbers? He carried us on his own on this 2 seasons, as we lacked overall talent.

33 goals in 88 CL games is piss poor for a £300k a week striker.
Well some people care more about the club than their favourite players.
Lets see how he does against the big 5 or in the CL before you start bragging.
Since Ronaldo left, Rooney's record in knockout CL games and big league games is:
Bayern: 1 goal & 1 assist in 2 appearances
Milan: 4 goals in 2 appearances
Barcelona: 1 goal in 1 appearance
Real Madrid: 1 assist in 2 appearances
Arsenal: 6 goals & 2 assists in 12 appearances
Chelsea: 7 goals in 13 appearances
Liverpool: 3 goals in 7 appearances
City: 8 goals in 12 appearances
Tottenham: 5 goals in 8 appearances
If you add in his contributions against the smaller teams in the knockout stage - Marseille, Schalke, Ajax and Athletic Bilbao (4 goals, 2 assists, 5 games) - you have a total of 39 goals and 6 assists in 65 games against the top sides and teams in the European knockouts. That's not a bad record.
Nonsense. The team won the league in 2011 and 2013 with rooney contributing very little. The players were carrying his fat arse to league titles while he was shagging a dirrty prosy.Do you remember the squads he played in, while posting this numbers? He carried us on his own on this 2 seasons, as we lacked overall talent.
More like the less rooney plays the better chance we have of winning trophies.Actually it is a coincidence. Unless you are suggesting that there is an inverse relationship: the more goals Rooney scores the fewer games United win?
Great. SO he averages less than 3 goals a season in the CL. That £100k for each goal.Correction: 29 in 77, and to ignore his premier league statistics is beyond ignorance.

Lovely finish. Great technique. Hope he drives to to have a good few years of a consistent peak on his career.
I think we need to do something to make Rooney threads more pleasant. It's all a bit of "money grabbing so and so" half the time and "that's a feck you to the haterzz" the other half.
More like the less rooney plays the better chance we have of winning trophies.
Fergie has almost always been soft on his best players, including Rooney when signed his previous contract, lest you forget...Additionally, if Fergie found himself in a position like Moyes does (potentially losing many of his best players), he'd have done the exact same thing.A depressing post Sultan.
I doubt that had Fergie remained in charge and refused to meet Roney's demands, that we'd have failed to win trophies for a decade.
Rooney was actually immense in the 2011 title run in. Remember that hat trick against West Ham to drag us from behind and that goal against City? Nani and Berbatov kept us in the race until January, and Rooney saw us to the title, and a CL final.
There's been a similarly named poster having the exact same agenda? Good spot if trueIs that Ruud10 back in disguise? a pretty lazy disguise I might add.
Yeah, the Chris smalling thread is full of loads of agenda posts.Extreme bi-polar opinions, just like every thread in the FF. Nothing new then.
This point about Utd winning nothing when Rooney played as a striker thus him as a striker is basically pointless for the club is getting fecking annoying now. How the feck can people be so stupid when they say stuff like this. Those two titles were lost under exceptional circumstances. People like Ruud_Boy purposely forget this just to keep their agenda driven nonsense alive.
One title lost on GD and another lost by one point thanks to basically an offside goal allowed. The way Rooney is directly or indirectly blamed for those title loses is beyond my comprehension. Luckily this fecked up logic is mainly present in the newbie section.
Very true but some people are just beyond talking to.
I've heard a few people go on about that and it is absolutely ridiculous. People just try and look for anything they can to discredit someone even when it is just a pointless statement. If these people had even looked a bit closer into things, the 09/10 season Rooney got injured right at the end and missed out on the crunch match against Chelsea and we lost out on the league by one point because the team wasn't good enough in his absence. It's not Rooney's fault that we didn't have another world class attacker, unfortunately Berbatov couldn't step up at the end. In contrast, last year we added RVP to the team who was excellent but when he didn't score for 10 games, who was there to step up and win us the games? Yeah it was Rooney. It is actually a credit to Rooney's performances that he could have won us the league in 09/10 had he not got injured playing in the the team he was in at the time.
The 11/12 season we lost by goal difference, bit crazy to blame your highest scorer for us losing out on goal difference. It's not Rooney's fault our players leading the line didn't finish as well as they should have. Neither is it Rooney's fault (who scored twice that day) that we conceded a few goals to Everton in the 4-4 draw. Again, Rooney was the only world class attacker in our team during that season. The team that Ronaldo was in had much better players and had Rooney himself supporting him, and the team RVP had last season had Rooney to step in when he had his goal drought. Rooney never had another world class attacker supporting him during the 09/10 and 11/12 season, again it is actually a credit to him that he scored so many goals and got us a point or goal difference away.
And that's not to mention that he was our best attacker in the 08/09 season, scoring 20 goals from the left wing and also setting up goals AND protecting his full backs in CL and big games. He was also our joint top scorer in the 06/07 season and our highest scorer from open play when we won the league, so doesn't that kill that argument? Ronaldo was obviously better than him that season but Rooney was indeed our joint top scorer and top scorer from open play during a league title win.
That's a bit of an exaggeration.
Rooney scored in just 2 of those 10 game Van Persie 'barren spell' in which United actually won. Norwich at home,(Kagawa hatrick) and Reading at home. That Van Persie 'barren spell' United went out of 2 cup competitions.
