That's the Wayne Rooney I like to see. Well done lad!
If you want a laugh, please move back about two or three months through the Rooney threads on this forum. Same absolute whoppers summarily wrote him off. What a week he's had. Main man with RvP playing a quieter role. Heartbeat.
Brilliant performance, the more games he plays the better he gets.
It's the one thing that angers me more than most.
People who fail to realise and appreciate his importance.
Sensational stuff from Roo these days. Scary stuff if you're Jose working on a game plan to deal with United. A month ago you could say "Contain RvP and you've contained United." You can't say that now.
If we can work Nani into top gear then I think we can write off Real altogether. And yes, I am aware of Ronaldo.

Since start of last ssn Rooney involved in 68 goals in 66 games for MUFC (47 gls, 21 assists). Not Messi-esque, but impressive nonetheless.
Excellent today and good that he had an impact from the left and you'd think the way foward will have him, kagawa and rvp alternating in attack, Nani as well hopefully. When he plays like this he really is our top man with his contribution going forward and in defence. Hitting form at just the right moment.
Class even without the goal. Covered all sorts of ground and his overall play was fantastic.
Excellent stat that.
However it'll take two bad performances on the trot for the Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime to come out of their woodwork.
He is our most important player and I said this when RVp was going great guns. There were people who wanted to drop him because he had one shite game against Swansea
It's brilliant that when Rooney isn't scoring much, RvP does and when RvP stops scoring a bit we have Rooney to take over. You can stop one of them but not both!
Is it just me or does Rooney seem to be thriving now with the pressure and spotlight off him now that RvP has been labelled the main man by pretty much everyone? Defenders also seem to give him more space since they're busy with RvP and this is helping him influence games even more. Brilliant performance from him again and he'll always be our most important player imo. He's really got a brilliant habit of being a man for the big moments. Scores such crucial goals!
Excellent stat that.

The goal today reminds me of a certain Ronaldo goal against Fulham a few years back.
Title winning moment perhaps?.
Wayne stepped up today when we needed him, he read the bounce well and showed desire to get there first.
Could of had 5 goals today, was very unlucky with the post shot.
