So Moyes thought it was just "a tussle." He just cannot bring himself to castigate Rooney, he's so far up his hairy arse.

It's fine if it is someone like Ashley Young of course.

Yes, he was. Seemed to me like he was making up for the shitiness of Valencia, Cleverley and Fellaini combined and drove the team forwards on multiple occasions .

And did nothing - if Valencia had made the same runs, as he did, without creating anything, then you'd be on his neck. The Rooney love in here is absurd at times. That was a very average display with a goal and a nice assist.

Too true that.

I'm starting to dislike this whole ordeal more than I thought I would. Rooney seems to get away with anything. That's just treating people differently. Be frank and say that was a straight red Moyes and stop acting like a wanker. Stupid by Rooney.

He's trying to avoid getting him a ban. Do you want him to say it was a straight red and hand it to the FA on a plate?

Without creating anything? I must have missed the chance he set up for Welbeck. It was a good display. If the others displayed even half of his commitment we'd have won that game

Quite astonishing what he did with the last kick of the game but....i'd say he is utterly knackered from the England games

Is this a serious post? If Moyes publicly has a go at him that's Rooney out for a possible 3 games which leaves us in a big pile of shit

Why? The ref saw it and awarded a yellow card - why should MOyes' opinion matter? If he said a red card wasn't a red card, would that take away the red card?

Valencia set up Rooney for his goal - or did I miss that? It wasn't a good display. If he hadn't scored or assisted, it would have been average at the very best.

The rules have changed I believe. If Moyes has a go at Rooney in public it might mean a greater chance that the PL, who are heavily influenced by the media might ban him.

What has Valencia got to do with this? And no he didn't set Rooney up.

You're wrong but I won't waste by breath on you.

He did, more or less as Hernandez was also involved.

I suspect you consider yourself superior? If you look above, you will find that I'm not the only one with this opinion. But alas.

No, I just don't like wasting my time with posters who have an agenda, like you do and have demonstrated in this thread.

He had a good game which was blighted by that poor miss at the end.

my feed went all sh!T in the last few mins, so I had a poor view on Rooney's last min effort, but it did seem madness.

Just shoot. It's Welbeck next to you, don't even try to put it in his hands!

The referee dealt with the incident on the pitch. What Moyes says in a post-match interview has no bearing on anything but the relationship between himself and the player.

Edit: What I mean is the FA would take action regardless of whether David Moyes feels it was just a tussle. Now if it was Alex Ferguson, maybe his opinion would add weight.

We get it. You have a personal vendetta against Moyes.

If Moyes had said something else you'd be berating him for not backing the players. You are a pointless poster.

A world class player would have buried that. I cannot imagine Ronaldo or Messi passing such an opportunity to shoot into an empty net. Even if he had wanted to pass, at least get the pass right so Welbeck can score from it. Rooney did not shoot on target & neither did he pass accurately.

£250k/week & you do that in the 93rd minute? Unforgivable!!!

Who is the "we?" Are you all of a sudden speaking on behalf of the entire caf?

Personal vendetta  what the feck man. You are wrong actually, I like David Moyes. What I don't like is his constant pandering towards Wayne Rooney. I know exactly why he does it, but that doesn't mean I can't dislike it.

are you saying Messi and Ronaldo never make mistakes?

You're quite clearly a WUM. And a wanker.

According to Hectic, he thinks that he's Rooney son, so it's justified how much he protects Rooney.

Anyway, despite him having a brainfart which even Welbeck would have been proud to have, still he was our best player today. He was lucky that the ref was shit at his job and didn't send him off in the beginning but otherwise he did fine. Scored a goal and crossed another one, not bad performance from him. I dislike him though.

 Get in Wayne, Tyler needed a slap after that commentary

In fairness, Rooney has spent his whole career getting away with things other players would get punished for - just like today - so he might not person to highlight this glaring double standard.

He's just opened a big can of whoop ass. Needed to be said but I'm surprised he's gone public on it.

Paradoxically he's also spent much of it being crucified for stuff other players would have got away with, like the Fulham TV swearing.

Looks like Wayne's in a bit of arsey mood tonight.

These tweets should fuel a nice media frenzy for the next few days.

Why's he trying to justify his actions by using sky pundits opinions? Tyler is annoying as feck but why is he so riled up about it? He's Wayne Rooney, of course people are going to speak.

I think it's been both ways, he's been punished for things because he's Wayne Rooney also.

I don't think he's trying to justify his actions I think he's highlighting the bias of the media and it's true, some players get treated one way and others another. As a big name Rooney should expect to hear about his actions more but not to see them interpreted in a different way to other players. Probably not the wisest thing to do though.
