He's not really wrong. I reckon if Rooney gets a good run of games in the side, he can get to 20 league goals this season.

I mean I don't even know why this is a supposed "issue"
you play your best player when available, simple as that (unless it's a nothing game and you're better off resting him, but he's hardly in need of rest)

The more he plays the better he usually gets, so keeping him on the bench is not going to help at all. And it's not like he has been shite this season, his stats are right up there

So Rooney's undroppable now?

No player is undropable but you want your best players playing in the big games. There does come a point if they have severe drops in form then you would drop them for example our player of the year last season Valencia.

Thanks for answering the question Lawman. Didn't ask for rooney to be dropped nor did I mean it that way. Just asked a simple question.

He's not played poorly enough to be dropped for me. That said, it could be argued that neither has Hernandez.

I'd start Rooney personally. I don't think he's undroppable though, not with our current options - I just don't think he's been playing badly enough to warrant it.

I thought it was encouraging the way he played against west ham, looked quite sharp. Personally I'd have him straight in as he lets rvp player higher up the pitch as well as gives the midfield extra protection.

You seem to do that a lot, post something that implies other people mean something different to what they mean and then say "I didn't mean it that way".

I hate the way some people can't admit to mistakes on here. Instead he tries to guilt trip everybody else, instead of saying 'wait, I could have said that a bit differently'.

Any comments on him?

I was expecting from Fergie not sto start him today(even though most of people said he will start), and I think it was good decision, since he didn't look to good in those 30 minutes or so.

Should have had a penalty in his first contact with the ball, but apart from that, did nothing special tbf.

Thought he was excellent when he came on, looked very sharp for a man coming back from a break. Not sure what you were unhappy about, Amar.

Nothing, I just like to be critical on him. :D

No really, I think he should have done better tbf.

Peoples expectations of Rooney piss me off. He was a spark when he came on, was a fantastic breath of fresh air.

Turned up for 10 min. or so, made a couple of run then strolling around the pitch, picked up a yellow card with lazy foul, then went home with 200k per week.

How was he a spark in any way? We were sitting back the entire time he was on and he didn't do anything to change that. I'm not saying I expected miracles from him but he didn't change the game in the slightest.

Were we watching the same game? A spark? Was this not the same player who fecked up a good counterattacking move from a beautiful backheel from RVP?

Yeah mate. That's really refreshing.

I thought he looked disinterested when he came on. I thought he would run his socks off but he didn't really do that.

His dribbling yesterday was really poor, not that he tries to run with the ball often but when he does it's definitely one part of his game that's not very strong. When he tried to come inside from the right into the box he didn't look comfortable on the ball and was tackled far too easily.

100%. We needed more from him. He strolled around, like he was sent on to get a few minutes for his fitness. He didn't do anything wrong, just that i would have liked him to get stuck in like those who he replaced and help us get a hold of the game.

I still think his omission from the start was a bit of punishment from Fergie for missing that penalty. He was probably a bit pissed off about that and it showed in his attitude..

...pure speculation of course...:)

I thought that we looked like we had a bit more of a goal threat when he came on, rather than Kagawa. Neither do I think he was as bad as some of you are making out. Some of you seem to think we got beat badly with some of the stuff you're coming out with

Are the minuses beginning to outweigh the pluses with Rooney? How long before SAF runs out of patience?

Yes......yes they are. Being perfectly honest unlike previous seasons we really dont look any worse without him.
