Rooney interview was strange, still not saying he's happy here and getting angry with the dude asking the questions about it

Not too happy about the, "happy now?" questions there.
Good night's work from him.

Is it just me that thinks he's a total dick for not just saying he's happy being a United player?

Is it a lot to ask?

Well then. Surprised at how he handled that.

It doesn't matter if he's happy with the club if he plays like that when he isn't.

Rooney doing what truly matters and is concentrating on the football rather than the fecking handbags and pathetic media bollocks.

Well, if he isn't then what's the point of saying it? Just so he can get some lemmings back in his fan club before he pisses them off again?

what a prick. hard to think on your feet and all but its quite clear he still has a chip on his shoulder through some misguided notion the club wronged him. he wasnt playing well enough for the team last year and van persie was, simple as.

He's concentrating on his football. As he should.

Hey, if he's not happy and leaves at a time that suits us for him to leave, but until that time he plays and scores like he did tonight then so fecking what?

He's still got a few problems, that is clear. I assume the reports about him wanting us to say that he didn't ask to leave or whatever it was is one of the problems he has, but it's something we can't really clear up.

Anyway, he's concentrating on his football and if that's the way he plays when he isn't happy with the club then great.

He's clearly angry at the club for revealing he asked to leave which really if not an official request should have been kept behind closed doors. It fine to me that he didn't answer the question as frankly why should he if the answer might be a negative one. He'd only be accused of being a disruptive presence in the dressing room.

Midway through the season I think he'll be fine.

Probably because he isn't. It's obvious he wanted to leave this summer but the club put their foot down. He'll dole out the standard platitudes but in my opinion, it's clear that he wants to be elsewhere. But he's stuck here for another year at least and sulking isn't going to do him and future prospects any good.

The guy (and his agent) are after more money if he were to come out and say he is happy then United he's throwing away his biggest bargaining tool if, as he has done, he says feck all then United are gonna have to make him want to stay with a nice new big contract.

Isn't it obvious to everyone that he wanted out over the summer and still probably would like to go? If his attitude's right on the pitch then that's all we can ask, even if he'd said otherwise it would've been mere lip service.

What he has said is better than lying to appease the fans.

Still think we won't let him leave until his contract expires.

Aye agreed.

Seems the drama isn't over with him though.

Agree with this, as Sir Alex said at the time, Wayne Rooney in top form wouldn't have been dropped.

It doesn't matter if he's happy with the club if he plays like that when he isn't.

But this is the crux of the matter. The goals he scored tonight could've been scored for Chelsea. They weren't and that's all I care about. He's playing well and he's playing well for Man Utd. If we have to run down his contract to stop him strengthening our rivals I say do it.
