His body language says it all. Looks like he ignores the rest of the team, and the rest of the team ignores him back. Not looking promising.

Chelsea can still feck off.

That game shows why assist stats can be fecking useless sometimes. He comes off the pitch today with two assists because of the brilliance of others.

Don't know what to make of it. Did more in half an hour than Giggs did for an hour...but looks like he's out of touch with the team and he's sulking.

For what he brings to the team on the pitch don't want him to go but it's never good to see a player who won't celebrate goals or even crack a smile.

Didn't look particularly bothered and clearly wants away, but good for him to get a couple of assists anyway. Van Persie's goal was mainly a result of Van Persie himself though, however his pass to Welbeck for his chip was good.

Two assists, and made a very good impact, played good passes and worked hard. Who gives a feck if he didnt look ecstatic if he still plays good and acts in a professional manner.

Just playing the devil's advocate here so bear with me please, why does it matter so much if he isn't celebrating nor smiling ?

Showed his undeniable class and it's something that can't be argued... losing Rooney would be devastating. 2 assists and a very good half an hours play but his body language doesn't make you hopeful.

He's back wearing the shirt tonight, as happy as I would have been to see him leave I can't give him nothing but support whilst he's still playing for us.

He was pretty good so no real complaints..

At the same time though stats mean very little in the grand scheme of things and he was still half arsed. When he was in possession he did good, but against a better team we couldn't get away with a half arsed player IMO

Didn't look interested, don't think he celebrated either goals. But 2 assists and he's a quality player.

A fully fit Rooney is world class and we can't afford to sell him unless we bring in someone as good, if not better than him, and there's not many of those players around.

The most successful teams have that team spirit and togetherness which takes them over the line. It's never a positive to have obvious divisions.

He put in an excellent little cameo you cnuts.

That's what we want. We don't have to like the little shitbag

Not bad for someone who hasn't had much football. Those 2 assists will go a long way. My advice is for him to get his head down and keep showing everyone what he's about.

All the other bullshit will take care of itself.

We don't know how he felt inside but he used to be one of the most expressive players when we scored, it's a bit disappointing to see someone who is not that keen on being at the club or joining his teammates in celebrating a goal. Credit to him though because he still made a very significant contribution.

I think we are keen to keep him otherwise he wouldn't play. By all intents and purposes though he doesn't look happy to be here.

Strange situation really and not sure what the solution is.

Was he sulking because he wants to leave, or simply showing he'll do his talking on the pitch? Unfortunately my gut says the former, but I've no idea why you'd want to stop being part of this team.

To be fair its hard for him to celebrate the second goal when he was clattered from behind. Looked like he might have picked up a slight knock as a result?

I don't understand the 'half-arsed' comments. I thought he covered alot of ground during the time he was on the pitch.

Yeah who cares if our players have no love for the club as long we're winning.

His first assist was shit though, he did nothing out of the ordinary. Most of the assists he racks up are probably short sideway passes.

Fair enough

I don't want players who don't want to be here.

I understand you, for me I honestly don't give a feck if playing for Utd is a torture for him as long as he can play well. I realize that not being happy will just increase the chances of feck ups or bad performance but it's how it is. I'd rather keep a Rooney who isn't entirely happy at Utd than sell him to Chelsea.

Because a player who isn't celebrating or smiling is one that is clearly unhappy, and it's dangerous to have a player like that around the dressing room. I think selling him to Chelsea could be a massive mistake potentially if he then performs for them, but the fact that he still looks very unhappy is obviously a worry.
