It's not even that they don't like him - I imagine he's still very popular in the dressing room.

If I told everyone at work that I was looking for a new job, I don't imagine everyone would begin to hate me - it would just be business as usual.

Absolutely, at the end of the day most of them are employees not Utd supporters

I guess I don't see being in a football team together being akin to working in an office together.

Given the very nature of the sport, I expect more of a "Them" and "Us" attitude, and thought that Rooney deciding to jump ship for one of your biggest rivals as going against what you've championed for as a team for the last 5 years or so...?

If Rooney hands in an official transfer request, would be be a bigger traitor than judas?

Yes. Say what you like about Judas, but at least he didn't ask for a transfer.

It was all good until about March, scored that winner against Fulham and he was putting himself about. Even in April when he was playing Centre-Midfield he looked quite attentive and keen. I don't know if SAF was just tired of him or if it was a parting shot for 2010 but it is clear to me that Rooney and United as a relationship has gone as far as it can. Rooney could have easily turned round this July and said 'Ok, new era under Moyes, let's start from afresh,' he has plenty to prove and to gain but his head has been turned.

Seems that way doesn't it?

No, the quicker he hands in a transfer request the better as far as I"m concerned. I"d love him to stay but it's dragging on for far too long and we'd need to get another striker before the transfer window shuts. This mysterious shoulder injury insults the fans he"s obviously reiterated that he still want"s to go so if Chelski want him then they have to pay a fair price and lets move forward and leave this mess behind.

Adrian Durham: "Manchester United are holding Wayne Rooney prisoner."

The faux provocation starts now.

 yeah, cause we forced him to sign that mega contract of which he now doesn't want to fulfil.

If I was Rooney I would be insulted at what chelski was offering. It doesn't really show they are that interested when they don't make an offer that United cannot refuse.

That doesn't make sense. He is interested to go there and get as much money as possible, I doubt he care what Chelsea pay to us. And as duffer said, the less they pay us, the more he gets on wages.

Durham: "David Moyes is scared of Jose Mourinho."

Gough: "They're [United] are scared of Chelsea."

Dumb and dumber.

Or that people acknowledge that there can come a time where it is mutually beneficial to part company, that United can evolve without Rooney and the player find something necessary to his motivation elsewhere.

Others paint him as irreplaceable even in last season's guise, neither the stats nor performances quite square with such theory yet it exists.

Nothing to do with what I said, nothing.

Poor Rooney, what a miserable life he's having. I am feeling sorry for the lad. We are a disguising club, I am ashamed of United. First we keep Ronaldo as a slave and now we have imprisoned Rooney. We are still living in medieval.

Durham: "In £30m they've been offered crazy money for him."

"Just let him go."

They're clearly being provactive, but even then how's that crazy money for England's best player...who's still in his mid twenties? You'd have thought that £40m would've been the least we'd have wanted for him. Love him or hate him he's still the most marketable player at United selling him for below his value hopefully won't be a mistake that we'll be making.

I think this covers the situation perfectly. Personally I didn't think we'd get anywhere near £30 mill for him.

Wouldn't even say Durham is a cnut , because cnuts actually believe in what they are saying.

Yes, and they do keep contradicting themselves as well.

One minute he is England's main man and integral to all of United's league titles whilst in the next moment £30m is crazy money.

They keep saying as if the gospel truth that Rooney didn't even ask or even imply that he wishes to leave, i've not heard one United caller which is good though.
