Don't think he will get booed, it will be YSB.
That could be worse than booing him.

No point selling one of our two star players, even if he isn't that good these days

Well, Steve - given the circumstances both sides could very well be right when they accuse the other side of being unreasonable. Because there are many unreasonable posts in this thread. I find it reasonable that people don't like Rooney. I don't find it reasonable to claim that he has acted in a way which makes it impossible for him to continue being a United player. I find it reasonable to want him sold, less reasonable to claim it doesn't matter where. And I find it very unreasonable to claim that he is an overweight, unprofessional and greedy git who has doubtlessly seen his best days as a player. That's my stance on this, summed up.

Doubt they'll boo him ,more chance of them shouting "Rooney,Rooney,Rooney" like the sheep they are. And i don't mean it in a bad way.

Anyone remember when Giggs used to get booed? Disgusting.
And me. I'd help Rooney packI'd care in that I'd be bloody delighted
Followed by one of those defining performances against Juve i think it was.

Well he wouldn't need a comb :-)You could be extra nice and put some sweets and junk food in his backpack, along with several packs of smokes.
It happened much after that as well. Blackburn at home I think, sometime between 2004 and 2006.
I hope I'll never see the day when we boo our own players. If people don't like Rooney, then don't chant his name. Easy as pie.
A goal against City will get the majority back on side though.
I really hate this kind of phrase, makes football fans sound so mindless.

Never, never would I Boo a United player, no matter how much of an arse he is.
He'll get booed and he probably deserves to.
He's a professional footballer, he should take it in his stride and realise why he's upset United fans.
It's just another excuse to leave the club. First we weren't playing him enough, then because SAF might say something bad, now because the fans might boo.
It's not close to clever. He and his team are just trying to desperately get him out. They should shut up and focus on the fact he's not going anywhere and if he wants to go, stay in shape, play well and let us sell you for what you are worth at the ned of the season or in the next transfer window.
"People are mean to me" isn't a viable option for selling.
What if he murdered his wife and children and got away with it on a technicality?

Agreed. The flurry of newspaper articles that I believe came from Rooney's camp were almost comically pathetic. There was a period in late June / early July when it seemed a different story with a different basis for Rooney's unhappiness was popping up almost daily. It's all bullshit, most people can see through it and see that it's PR manipulation, but it's been shoddily done and his concurrent silence on twitter has eaten into any sympathy I might have had for him. It's like Rooney/Stretford's modus operandi is to do things sneakily... if he'd come out at the end of the season and said he wants out and explained why, we could have spared this thread about 100 pages.
Now you just being silly, but yes then maybe I would boo him , but if that did happen I doubt if he would even be playing football.
So, not 'never.'
There are things players will do that will make one boo them, is my point. And everyone has their limits. I'm not a fan of booing players for their performances, unless a player just stands there doing nothing. But there are times when players cross a line for fans. What Rooney has done (twice) is one of those lines. Asking to leave a club twice? Yeah, you get booed. That's life. If one is going to take an action, one needs to understand all the variables.
Truth is, Rooney knows he will be booed by some fans and is using as another, rather transparent and pathetic, excuse.

Will you start singing his name if he scores against City? Not calling you fickle but the majority of people who boo him will probably forget what happened over summer if he scores against City, it happened in 2010 and it will happen again in 2013.It's complete naivety on his part to think that. I've never boo'd a player of ours before, even when a lot of others have, but I'd be tempted to boo this cnut.
