Ive only started listening to Talksport recently since I've nothing better to do at work, but is Durham always such a knob?

Sometimes he forgets to be and is actually ok. For minutes on end sometimes.

He has actually failed in his task today. He was hoping for a more reactionary response from United callers, as it is they've been fairly level headed.

The slant is clearly pro Rooney and you can tell that at Moyes first slip Durham will be straight in there studs up.

I just heard Michael Owen's interview, do you think that it is too late for BT Sport to find a new pundit? lol

That £20m rumour was obviously bollocks.

Yeah, thats stupidly low ball. If what he is saying is true, I reckon they would have bid at least £30m+, thereby giving us back us our investment 9 years ago

well, if hes the only product the want to buy, and we have him, the law of supply and demand apply.

Jose just added £30 million to the pricetag I should think. In this circumstance, it should cost chelsea more than torres.

Well i'm watching SSN and they keep adding little snippets. Anywhere to read the full transcript or something?

MOURINHO ON ROONEY BID

Posted on: Wed 17 Jul 2013

Following Wednesday's win against Singha All-Stars in Bangkok, Jose Mourinho spoke about a bid made by Chelsea to sign Wayne Rooney.
The Chelsea manager confirmed that a written offer to Manchester United for the transfer of the striker had been made but that no other players are part of the offer.
'Chelsea is interested in this player, made a bid and what we did we did officially,' Mourinho said.
'Now we have nothing more to say, we want the player, we made the bid and now it is up to Man United.
'We don't want to make public the bid but it is just a certain amount of money and it doesn't involve players or players in the possibility of negotiation. No Juan Mata, no David Luiz.'
Mourinho added that he did not know Man United's response to the bid.
'Now I keep trying to improve my players and we will see what happens.
'From me no more comments with respect to Man United, my colleague David Moyes and my players.
'I trust my players and I am happy with them and in this bid I want to be respectful.'
The Chelsea boss was then asked if the club had made other bids, to which Mourinho replied: "No, and we won't."
He was then asked whether it is now "Rooney or bust", replying: "yes."

Rofl at Rory Mcilroys imput on it.......so blindly told what to do by Nike. Wouldn't be surprised if they get their other athletes to push for it too since they won't want him in an Adidas kit.

Yeah if you read the whole thing Rory and not in between the lines you'll realise what Moyes said was fine, numpty.

What a twat for having an opinion not shared by many on here ... bad bad United supporter there obviously being told what to say by someone else.
He's free to voice his opinion but saying Rooney doesn't have to prove himself to the new manager and that he's loyal player for Man United is nonsense.

Wayne Rooney has nothing to prove? Every player has something to prove every season, particularly a player that has fallen out of favour because he has been under par in his performances.

Exactly. I hate that some think because he's given 9 years of service to the club, he is beyond criticism. He has the same thing to prove as every other United player does each season, you don't get a pass just because you've been here a year, two years or even five years longer than other players. His comments, if they were understood correctly, are a disgrace. I wonder if Giggs takes the same shit attitude into each season, or if he approaches each season like a professional and realizes nothing is earned on past merit alone.

I was hugely surprised that such comments came from a successful professional sportsman.

Interview from Mourinho yesterday. Nuts how quickly things have changed and been contradicted by both clubs in less than 24 hours

If anything, Rooney has a bit more to prove than others in the squad. The old saying "you're only as good as your last game" has some application here. Yes, he's given us 9 years of service and has been an outstanding player for most of that time, but I wonder if he hasn't pissed away the goodwill that service has generated by acting up in the way we're told he has. It's turned into a bloody circus now and the club needs to sort it out one way or the other and quickly. Personally, I'd like to see him make peace and knuckle down to his game. We all know what he can do on the pitch and I'd rather see him do it in a red shirt rather than a blue one. What fans won't tolerate is a player making a monkey out of the club. Rooney's done that and maybe there's no way back for him, but if he does stay, then he, more than say, Van Persie, needs to show the fans and his teammates that he can be relied upon to give his all for the cause either as a starter, or from the bench.

Funniest thing about the Rory thing is that......he comments on an out of context quote from Moyes.....yet when a out of context quote is thrown on him about him and his current struggles he states "he know this works" and that probably wasn't what it meant.

COME ON NOW

I want Moyes out of my football club now. His management has seen the club deteriorate in stature and reputation with each passing day.

Don't worry, I am sure that if you ask mods politely they will change your username to johncfc.
