There's not much point in it though, as there seems to be no reason why we would turn it down, or why Chelsea would offer such a stupid deal in the first place. I mean how can you offer Mata or Luiz? How is it one or the other, they aren't remotely similar value wise, and what team, - even without a single defender - would take Luiz over Mata if they were given a choice? It has to be rubbish.

As weird as it sounds, If this is true, and we reject an initial bid, and end up agreeing on say £15mil + Mata... I'd still be annoyed at the idea that some feckfunnel thought that was a chance worth taking and rejected the first bid

Could well of done, I just don't see how Chelsea would make an offer with Luiz and Mata as financial equivalents. If they were selling either player alone, Mata would cost a hell of a lot more. The fact we are dying for a player like Mata, and have no real use for a player like Luiz makes their evaluation of both players as the same, even more ridiculous.

Well yeah - I seem to remember the murmurings of Barca being interested in Luiz earlier in the summer (or January - can't remember) and price tags of like £30-35m being banded about. So they obviously value him at a lot. He's a good player in fairness, very underrated on the Caf - obviously Mata is the one everyone would want though!
