Personally I couldn't give a shit how well he'd do at Chelsea, though I'm confident he'll be past it soon. More importantly I feel we could involve into a much better team without Rooney.
We absolutely cannot sell him without a replacement lined up. City got lambasted for not adding enough quality to their team to defend their title. If we sell Rooney we'd be hard pressed to even put out as good a team as we had last year, much less as good or better.
It wasn't quotes from Rooney, just a Sky journalist who has been speaking to people close to Rooney.
But on Chelsea, he just said that we know Chelsea and Arsenal are interested and when he spoke to Rooney's representatives/agent/whoever they said that Rooney is open to moving down to London from the North West.

If we let him go to Chelsea we could live to regret it.
Disagree with that, he was pretty poor last season and I would prefer to see Kagawa play in his role behind Van Persie.
No he isn't. Difference between everyone else and him is that he thinks he is.
What happens when Van Persie pulls a hamstring in mid-November?

We start with Hernandez or Welbeck.
No point have 2 such players if we arent even ready to play them in case of an injury. Not the ideal situation to have in case of a CL semi or something but having a 200k a wekk/ 30-35mil backup isnt much use either. If we keep Rooney, it has to be for a role bigger than "backup for RVP"

Calm down lads. I'm not in favour of keeping him, but what are those "close sources" that claimed that? SSN is full of shit these days, so take it with a pinch of salt.

According to SSN, he's angry and confused as to how the club has treated him.

How often are we supposed to give Wayne the benefit of the doubt?
If the club can afford the financial hit, I'd love to see him in the reserves for 2 years... give him the 6-7 games (10%?) so that he cant terminate his contract and let him rot..
Lets see which club would be willing to take him on big wages in 2 years time when he is a 30 year old fat feck who hasn't played any real football for months.
In reality, that won't happen.. it'd be great if it did
Last season shows that he has plenty to prove, considering he is no longer the number 1 striker at the club. He complains that the club don't match his ambitions, or don't bring in enough top players, then we sign the best striker in the league and now he's unhappy again.
Sorry. Auto-correct.
I was suppose to type, he is NOT bigger than the club.
