In my mind, Rodneys not been the same player since the 2010 fiasco anyway. He's looked half arsed the majority of games, if a player has grown stale at a club and they want to move on, then in mind that's fair game. We can live without Rodney, there are players on the market that can replace him. So better we get this sorted straight away then for it all to resurface at Christmas when he holds more cards. I think it sends out a strong message as well and gives Dave some authority over the players.

 Easy trigger

In Rooney's world? Only if the price is right.

Well of course........he's a multimillionaire and as such gets access to whole worlds of perversion a deviant like me could only ever dream of, whilst Im balls deep in some flea covered old nag from a donkey sanctuary poster he is sucking off the finest Arabian stallions and racehorses the spoilt twat.

Jeez...you coulda told me privately that you were sleeping with my mum, Sparkz.

I demand a name-change to 'Son of Sparky'!

This explains why all those horses looked so nervous when Fergie took the players to the races!

I don't think that's right myself. This season fair enough but on all past evidence he is a player who tends to get better after a run of games. That's part of the problem though, he seems to need about 3-4 matches to get back to match fitness, one has to question whether because that is down to him not conditioning himself properly.
That's fair paceme. In my eyes, Wayne is a streaky player more than a "rhythm" player. Recently, to his credit, he's maintained a decent level of productivity while having a below par season.

Rodney looks good in pink to be fair.

I've heard our groundsman is preparing the pits as in Spartacus right now, Rooney and Moyes to go head to head.
Moyes will insert contract to hand, like the Gods will put cock to ass.

I have the same trouble with fishcakes when I see them swimming about in the pet shop.

we do not come screaming and shouting, proclaiming our intentions. We just cum in your dinner

So what's the benefit of the donkey's then? Is that just for fun?

FFS this is telling how little is going on with the Rooney/Moyes showdown talks, all we have established so far today is that Welsh lamb has become infinitely less preferable to the New Zealand alternative....

Can't workout which is worse out of this thread and the Thiago thread for extracting useful information out of it!

Thank god for the mod who changes the thread titles appropriately, you get the most sense out of that!

Yeah, donkeys are just for fun, plus they look so sad I like to try and bring some loving and joy to their lives :)

What about £22-25m + Moyes' pick from the buyer's academy/equivalent?

If we sign Thiago, I'd swap Rooney straight up for Chalobah (if we got some cash it would be a nice bonus). Bit like an NFL team trading a star for future draft picks. Whatever position the kid finishes up playing, he's going to be one hell of a player. (Way better than Pogba at the same age.)

Rolf Harris accused of tapping-up Rooney!:

 Nope. Pogba has been brilliant for Juventus, Chabolah played in Watford.

Jesus that's a bit extreme. Wilshere fair enough as he's already showed that injuries aside he's one of the best young midfielders around but being happy with a straight up swap for one of your star players in their prime for a kid who's done next to nothing seems a bit ott.

I agree with that. The last time he was at the top of his game for a prolonged period, was before he was injured against Bayern by that fouling fecker Van Buyten. The 2010 WC was a disaster for all the england players, but rooney has never hit anywhere near the heights he hit that season before that injury.

You are more likely referring to his first request to leave though, and that could well be the point which his form dipped. But still the season before he looked like one of the world's best, and has looked nothing like that on a regular basis since. I still think he has it in him, because class is permanent, but he looks to have lost his zest at OT, so we will just have to wait and see whether he can get it back under Moyes, if he stays of course.

I would like Rooney to stay but what you wrote makes a ton of sense, especially the last bit.

I personally think this is grossly overstated. People only need to have a quick glimpse of our run to the 2011 CL final to see Rooney was in top form and was key to our success at that point. 14 goals and 7 assists in the second half of the season including a goal in the quarter-final, semi-final and final of the CL, a goal against Arsenal in the FA Cup to take us to the semi-final (which we then lost without him) plus that hat-trick against West Ham to turn the league game on its head and essentially cement our title...that Rooney playing just off Hernández was every bit as good and important as the Rooney of the previous season, IMO, it's just he spent the first half of the season under that transfer request cloud. And of course he followed up that goal in the CL final with his run of 9 goals in 5 games at the start of 11/12 alongside Welbeck and it seemed like he'd added free kicks to his repertoire too.

It was the best Rooney we've ever seen. Doesn't fit in with the narrative that's now going about but if you go back to the threads here - or for an even better eye-opener you can look at the widespread recognition on RAWK that he had genuinely established himself as one of the best players in the world - then you'll see that he really did have everyone excited. And he then went on to score some of the best goals he's ever scored for us v Fulham, Bilbao and others at the end of the season. Strange to see how quickly people have bought into the idea that he's on the decline when there were obviously plenty of memorable moments from each of his previous two seasons. Also for some reason few people seem to remember Rooney scored just once in 10 games or just under 2 months between late September and late November in 09/10.
