The meeting between Moyes and Rooney isn't until Monday, right?

It's not impossible that somebody associated with either camp has heard something i suppose however i suspect we might see some more telling rumours in the Sundays or at beginning of next week [both sides getting their PR ducks in a row].

Have to say that I'd be amazed if both parties had left the discussion until 'now'. There was even a hint in the Mirror yesterday that Moyes won't have a one-to-one meeting with Wayne, and will instead 'have a word during training' (as if...). I believe none of this, and think that the club's & the player's intentions are known to the other party.

Its all just posturing from both sides at the moment I think, Rooney will not want to be seen as the bad guy be anyone due to his endorsements etc and United wont want to have undue pressure and abuse on the New manager.

You would hope that at least in principle some decisions were reached before the various parties jetted off on their holidays for a few weeks.

I think he's leaving...and I'm not just basing my ITK opinion on this tweet*, honestly! :D

*She's probably gone to the races for the day, or something.

@WayneRooney 5m
Coleen, Kai and Klay are off to see Sacré-Cœur #PARIS IS AMAZING!

*Warning! Not scouse accent friendly*

Fake tweet.

Is that a WUM post, mate? I know the Rooneys are Catholic, but still...

Doubt there's anything in that, just some advertising for Paddy Power. I'm guessing he was on Talksport talking about it too.

Paddy Power were first on the scene in regards to the Fergie retirement. I'd just say watch this space.

On the Red News Forum, the Red News editor said a few weeks ago that a good contact of his said that Rooney and Moyes had already spoken(could have been over the phone), and there was no problem between them. It was even mentioned that Rooney could sign a new contract not long after pre season training started.

Just look at him, flying about in a gold helicopter like Lord La-de-da while children around the world are starving !!1

It's strange. And it's not even that I think he's not that good. Of course he is. I think it's more to do with the way he acted in the past.He acted like a dick again and now I really don't care anymore. We got a young promising player on his position. He can feck off if he wants to. If he stays it's fine as well

He was a lot more valuable to us last time

When you look back to the 10/11 season, Hernandez was still rather unproven/unkown, Berbatov wasn't scoring nearly enough to take over and then there was Michael Owen who definitely couldn't be relied on given his injury record. Now we have Van Persie, Kagawa, a much improved Hernandez and Welbeck who's overall game can at times definitely rival Rooney's.(selected over Rooney vs Madrid.)

Our attack has much improved since then. However, who knows who we would have brought in back then to replace him.

He was our only real world class player then, at a time when we had lost a couple high profile players and people were questioning our standing in the game. It's a completely different scenario now.

 You're right. Of course. Sell the cnut, donate the proceeds to charity. We could call it the "Lord Mark Rodney Foundation For Starvin' Nippers (And Dippers)".

To be fair, that was a ridiculous statement.

Welbeck might not yet be close to the player Rooney is, but I meant that at times he's shown performances that could rival Rooney if they were more consistent. His tracking back and passing game at the Bernabeu for one was amazing. In fact he's probably the best player we have in regards to tracking back. Thus, why SAF most likely picked him over Rooney in the second leg.

I'd pick Welbeck over Rooney for a defensive role and as a lone striker where I think Welbeck is a lot better at bring others into play. But as a number 10 Welbeck is a million miles away from Rooney
