Don't let him lift the trophy!
Seriously though, what's the reaction going to be like when he lifts it?
Graham Hunter was on Newstalk saying Rooney wants to stay in England, and it's Chelsea who have approached him. Apparently he quite likes the idea of playing with Mata, Hazard, and Oscar. He went on to say that United won't sell to City, but may entertain selling to Chelsea.

A few years ago he wanted the club to sign better players, and now they've done so he doesn't like them being better, and throws a tantrum.

No thanks. Only one of Cavani/Lewandowski/Falcao will be acceptable not Rooney. His legs went years ago.
He's past his best. He has a lifestyle problem. Sex, drinking, smoking. In short, unprofessionalism. He's also very aggressive on the pitch and shows a lot of dissent which gets unpunished because he plays for Utd, but at Chelsea he'd be crucified, as he would for his lifestyle. The guy's going to end up washed-up long before his time. We need to keep well away from him if we know what's good for us. I doubt very much Jose would countenance the transfer.
Rooney could very very easily become another Torres - if he hasn't already
i would probably accept us signing Rooney for 20 million if we sold Torres for the same amount but its another big gamble
We already paid a fortune for one washed up Scouser. Don't need another
I don't want Rooney anywhere near Chelsea, it would be an epic fail.
Not only is he past his best, in poor fitness and not as good as the media make him out to be, buying him makes no sense when their are better players available. Rooney's wages are just not justifiable and his lifestyle will attract more negativity to Chelsea that we just do not need.
NO!
As others have said his legs are gone. So is his motivation I think.
Falcao please.
No Thank Roo
For £20m, yes.
But anything more than that it's too much.
hall we buy an overpaid player that's on the decline?
No thanks, we already have one!
Umm... let's see. Overweight, massively over-rated, unintelligible superchav scouse git with an hair transplant, creamed over by the likes of Clive Tyldesley on a distrurbingly regular basis.
There's a lesson to be learned here, I feel: Do not touch with an extra long bargepole.
Rooney is an over-rated twat who wouldn't fit into our system even if he was good enough, which he isn't. We need an out-and-out striker, not some scouse ponce who runs around like a maniac and getting sent off on a frequent basis. Even if I rated him, which I most certainly don't, I could never bring myself to trust a man who wears his arse-hair on his head.
There are far, far better strikers out there that we should be seriously considering buying. Rooney isn't even the best forward at Manchester United - why the f*ck would we want him at Chelsea???
He is fat, overrated, past his best and has a bad attitude. No thanks.
Good god no.
He isn't the sort of striker we are looking for regardless of the fact I think he is massively over-rated.
He would cost a fortune and is on silly wages, past his best and he is fat.
For someone who laugahbly gets called the 'white pele' you would think he might have managed to get himself a golden boot in his time in the Premiership considering he has generally been a first choice forward (& penalty taker) for the most successful club in the country in that time.
Serioulsy I don't want that fat turd anyhwhere near the club.
Seriously, I do not want Rooney anywhere near Chelsea Football club. He's got FLOP written all over him.
I'd say to him, either stay put or you're going abroad. How dare he try to dictate where he will go. Unless of course Levy would take him in part exchange for Bale. If he went to Chelsea I would want Mata as part of the deal.

I'd love Chelsea to sign him.
They still banging on about Rafa craig?
Swap for Mata, or Hazard?
He has a lifestyle problem. Sex, drinking, smoking.
Since when has that been a lifestyle problem? They do speak some shit sometimes. But the remainder of those posts look pretty accurate.
I disagree, a lot of those comments are pretty accurate. A lot of those same things are said of Rooney here on the CafThose comments from the Chelsea page are those of supporters who don't have a clue about football. You sure it's not the Chelsea Pensioners page and they are all posting from a home?
Didn't the Shed End members react in a similar way when Torres was rumoured to be signing for Chelsea?
Rooney to Chelsea seems like it might happen you know, cashley being best mates with wayne, Rooney still gets to stay in his home country..etc. With Mourinho taking the helm again at the bridge, wouldn't put it past Jose to make Rooney his first big signing.
They were right in that case.

Safe to assume he meant "I'd"
Maybe Roman will do another Rafa-like signing, and buy Rooney just to piss the Chelsea fans off.
With 2 years left on his contract, we surely have much more control over where he goes, unlike Arsenal with RVP who were hard pushed to sell RVP before the season started. We're not in a huge rush to sell, as there are 4 transfer windows before his contract actually expires. I do believe United will push for him to go abroad.
I don't care what he's done. He's been excellent for us and I love the guy. If he wants to leave then I don't want us to keep a player who is unhappy, so let him go. I just hope it's abroad, so I don't have to watch him bang them in for our rivals too often.
If he does push for a move, then a good portion of his book is a total lie. Is he going to recall it? Or is he going to keep selling it, even though he says wishing to leave United was the biggest regret of his life?
