This is odd, but from the official Kevin Pietersen's Twitter - a pic of him and Ashley Cole, taken yesterday by Rooney, while apparently discussing his new deal at CFC:

I thought that Rooney was pictured sinking pints with the United squad at the races yesterday?

Agreed, in those lovely (urgh) blue suits.

But hey, just including as it really is Pietersen's account. Maybe he's a Chelsea fan and just like screwing around.

At this point I'd gladly sell him for 40 million, if we can also get a proper replacement, which may not be too vital anyway.

If it means Kagawa in his natural position I'm all for it.

Fellaini is not my first choice midfielder but i am pretty sure Moyes will go for him especially considering his release is only £23m

.......Carrick....Fellaini
Nani.......Kagawa.....Bale
...........Van Persie.......

Looks very balanced and solid

Normally I'd say there is no chance that a player would speak to another club about a possible deal without having our permission first but it's Rooney, he never struck me as a loyal type ever since his 2010 antics so I wouldn't put it past him to do something like that. He definitely wants to leave, otherwise he would have rubbished the rumours by now as he knows well that United fans are a bit cautious about this sort of stuff after 2010, and we'll probably let him go if we can get £30m+ this Summer instead of half of it in 2014 and nothing in 2015.

Looks utterly jizzworthy but is Fellaini's passing good enough to play there and is he that good a tackler?

Also it's Chelsea, they don't exactly play by the rules.

If he has been entertaining the idea of leaving, and it seems clear that he has, he's unlikely to publicly commit himself one way or the other until he's had a chance to discuss his future with the new manager.

I don't think we can take his silence as a sure sign of anything. We won't know anything until Moyes takes the helm and you would hope that this next fortnight is more about appreciating the career of Ferguson than the future of Rooney.

I live in Chelsea so if I see him around, I'll ask him about Chelsea's ambition

Since Sir Alex decided to retire couldn't care less about him. Stays or goes doesn't make any difference. For the best of the club hope this Rooney thing clears as soon as possible no matter of the outcome.

Wonder what his reception will be at the Swansea game. Fans will be getting fed up with all his shenanigans. This might be once too often.

Sign Pietersen from the cricket.

feck it I'm fed up with him acting like a child. If he wants to stay then great, if he wants to go then just feck off.

I would see Fellaini more as a squad man than as a regular starter, at least in an XI that already includes those four up front. Fellaini's best work is in the last third, not in the middle third. And with Jones being used as a mid more and more often, with some success, and with Cleverley continuing his progress, I'm not even sure Fellaini would be a valuable new asset to the team.

As an aside, there's a contingent of Everton fans where I live here in Northern California and they're terrified Moyes is going to bring Baines with him. I don't see that happening, but then again it's not unimaginable.

If he was obviously not putting a shift in on Sunday the fans would be all over him, they'd push him out of the door.

He's too ambitious to merely lift the trophy, and will expect it to levitate.

Couple of alterations to bring it into reality. ;)

Graham Hunter was on Newstalk saying Rooney wants to stay in England, and it's Chelsea who have approached him. Apparently he quite likes the idea of playing with Mata, Hazard, and Oscar. He went on to say that United won't sell to City, but may entertain selling to Chelsea.

Welcome to the Mains, Mr S. :)

A few years ago he wanted the club to sign better players, and now they've done so he doesn't like them being better, and throws a tantrum.
