Zlatan’s international achievements (which are far greater than Lindelof’s) would be dismissed if he were useless for his club. Which Lindelöf is. In which case, being picked for your country is not a testament to your ability, it speaks poorly of your national team. If Smalling and Jones were Swedish, Lindelöf would not play for Sweden, and those two can barely get a look in for England.
My last sentence is simply questioning the merit of using the fact that Lindelöf plays for Sweden to assess him against Tuanzebe, who is obviously not eligible to play for Sweden!
And it wasn’t me who began saying the other’s opinion was ludicrous. I understand your opinion, but I don’t agree that it’s valid. Smalling is better than Lindelöf, yet Lindelöf is picked for his country. Fortunately, they both play in the same position at the same club, so we are able to see that Smalling is better, without having to check which one was called up for their country’s last match. This is the same logic I am using for Tuanzebe. Much of his appearances for us have been in friendlies, admittedly, but he’s still been more impressive than Lindelöf for me, who was an absolute shambles during last summer’s pre-season. To his credit, he did play well in hisnkne pre-season game this year.
