Victor Gyökeres

So noone here rates Liam Delap? He will not be cheap but there will be a championship discount. He's very young and already built like a man and good fit as ano( for us I think.

Then Joao Pedro looks a real deal too, but already too expensive I guess.

I rate him. Around 40m, he will be great value. Question is if he is too similar in profile to Hojlund

If we sell Højlund and bring him in as a second option behind Gyokeres I would not be against it. Dont think he is is anywhere near ready to lead the line for a club like United, and his stats back that up.

I’ve seen people still mention Ivan Toney. Let’s look at him for a second.
28 years old and cost 40m in the summer. Scored a total of 4 goals in the Saudi league in 12 matches. Prolific.
The guy stat padded with penalties when in the PL. also not that long ago that he git himself banned for 8 months, for 232 breaches of gambling rules.

Let’s get real, in a world where budgets are harder to get and every penny needs to be justified, top clubs are not going to spend millions to get this chancer back from SA. The best he can hope for is a loan.

Toney is absurdly overrated. Brentford have been more than fine without him and as you said he has been quite unremarkable in the Saudi League.
On top of that he seems like a bit of dodgy character which is not exactly what we need in our dressing room.

You absolutely hate Ivan Toney

Joao Pedro will cost massive money, he wasn't cheap when Brighton to sign him.

Gyorkeres fits the system perfectly...he and Amorim are comfortable with each other as well so this is the ideal move depending on cost

It baffled me to see how many were twerking for him in the summer. Like, choose another player guys!

With Delap, City have a buyback clause or a 20% sell on so we'd be unlikely to get him unless the 115 charges have some sort of impact.

I don't see how there'll be a championship discount as he's doing well in the PL.

Pedro isn't an out and out 9. He's more of the facilitator type like Zirkzee and would be better as a #10 in United's system, although the Brazilian would probably be a better traditional #9 than Zirkzee right now...but that signing still wouldn't make sense IMO.

I doubt we’d be interested, but I’d like the club to take a punt on him. There’s a player in there, just needs a manager who believes in him. Take him with an option and see how it goes.

Could see him going to Bournemouth especially with their main two strikers out injured

I do - to me he has a pretty complete game in terms of his physicality, technical ability and natural instincts and he just has that air of confidence that the elite CF's have, I mean Ipswich aren't doing particularly well but he's always up for it, always looking to get involved and put in a shift and he doesn't shy away from having a pop at goal even if he's missed a chance or two beforehand.

I'd just naturally worry about United have 2 young CF's as I think you'd want somebody a little more experienced, somebody who has a more natural feel for the game at this stage of their career will more often than not be able to position themselves in the right spot to on the end of something.

It's kind of the issue with Hojlund at the moment I feel in that he's not yet crafty enough to help carve out those sort half-chances in big games that could make the difference, and Delap at a young age might have the same deficiency until he's played a few more full seasons.

Whenever this gets bumped I'm half hoping it's us getting a credible link.

Would do wonders for our offensive output.

Delap looks decent but we need a proven quality striker, not another project player. Unless he is signed as a backup to a proven player and we sell Hojlund.

My Ipswich supporting mate doesn't believe Delap is very good but doesn't believe he will ever be United quality - or at least what United quality was supposed to be.

We definitely don't have a striker that confident on a 1 on 1 (as in vs. a defender, not just the keeper). Never looked like anything but a goal the second Orban backed up against him 1 on 1. You knew he'd smash it near post with his wrong foot, that's not particularly common really.

Wish we could get him and Osimhen as different profiles, however let's face it both of them want to lead the line

I think both Sesko and Gyokeres ought to improve our scoring woes. Razza, get it done.

Sesko is the exact same raw young striker like Hojlund and Zirkzee at this stage in their careers that needs time, coaching, reduced pressure on his shoulders, tempered expectations for the short-term, and a good team around him that will provide him service. We already decided to go with our current striking duo for the long-term, so adding another kid is not a good idea.

And Gyökeres is sadly not as good as it's being made out so I doubt the likes of United or Arsenal will be in for him.

So who should we looking to sign if not him?
