VAR, Refs and Linesmen | General Discussion

Case actually held the Palace lad's shirt collar in a joking manner and got sent off yet we have a spiteful grab of the throat and nothing.

Absolute corruption and that Palace game the VAR ref took a still frame for the on field ref to view to suggest a throat grab that was never there.

Ten Hag absolutely needs to address this in the post match interview.

Are we bringing back the glory days? Is football back?

Bruno deserved at least a yellow for slapping his arm off of him. At the very least. Possibly a red.

You have to be kidding. So Bruno’s expected to stand there with the guy’s hand round his neck until he decides to release his grip?

VAR was shambolic tonight. I think Rashford should have had a penalty. VAR did all they could to disallow Casemiro's perfectly good goal. Then completely ignored the obvious red for Felipe at the end. Shambolic. Surely the club can write to the FA and express concern here.

You can bet our players were thinking: the heck? No var check, Casemiro got a red for that.

It was sarcasm. Relax.

Should have been a red for Filiepe tonight but not even a yellow and when we played them their in December Morgan Gibbs-White should have been sent off before he scored the winner.

Why are Forest hiring a personal match official again?

Good to know that you can now grab opponents by the throat in football. Clearly much less dangerous than pulling a fella by the collar, eh?

We need to write to the PGMOL demanding to know why action wasn’t taken against the Forrest player for throttling Bruno tonight.

Until we start kicking up a massive fuss that these disgraceful decisions are continuing to go against us nothing will change.

This is part of the issue unfortunately. If this was Liverpool or City tonight, their manager would have been extremely vocal post math on these bizarre and wrong referee decisions. Ten Hag will probably not mention it.

Tried as hard as they could to disallow our goal as well, what the feck were they looking at for 5 mins.

It’s the fundamental flaw in how VAR is applied in these situations. They are looking for a reason to disallow it, instead of checking if there is a clear and obvious error.

That was nuts. Shearer said after about 30s that he'd heard them day they'd cleared Varane. There wasn't a chance Cas was off-side. It made no sense at all.

I think the delay was because you could see he wasn’t offside but there was no clear image proving he was onside. You just couldn’t really see him in a mass of bodies.

VAR can go and feck itself anyway. Hateful fecking thing.

They showed a replay at half-time, not the one they kept showing during the game, where you could see he was miles onside. But yeah feck them. You'd struggle to implement a worse version of VAR.

The fact you could see the players shirt number. Cas was half a body behind him. Literally a glance showed he wasn't off

It’s beyond doubt now that the team, not the technology needs replacing. Perfect camera view of choking a player (not like Case’s where one view showed he wasn’t actually doing anything) and not a peep from up top. It’s clearly violent conduct so why aren’t VAR getting involved there?
