VAR, Refs and Linesmen | General Discussion

Either of those challenges on Rashford could easily have been a red card. Very high and late.

Wards tackle on Rashford was pretty wild. Missed the ball by a mile and made contact with his knee.

Yeah and he knew it too. He was fearing the worst.

It was high. Wouldn’t have been surprised if VAR took another look but then it’s only Joel Ward of Palace which means nobody cares.

You've set the precedent of giving handballs regardless of accident or not... how is that not given?

That was incredible that they didn't even stop to review it.

This league is corrupt. It’s beyond incompetence.

He takes away a big opportunity for Rashford by using his hand no matter what way you look at it. Its not like he didnt have time to react. Clear penalty to me, but VAR simply dislikes us.

Arsenal gets one where arm is in natural position from a metre away.

Us cross field ball, player has all the time in the world to get out of way. Nah, play on.

Even if VAR led to the correct result every time it was used (which it doesn't), the fact that they inconsistently pick and choose which incidents to review is reason enough to oppose it IMO.

But obviously this system shouldnt have any transparency. Why on earth should the corrupt fecking refs/VAR room have to explain their decisions after/during the match?

It does seem like it's one call for United and one for the other clubs

Its like clockwork. Every feckin match now VAR feckin a big decision against us.

The premier league is slowly becoming unwatchable WWE style entertainment rather than a sport.

Refs are scared shitless of giving anything to us because they know its the easy decision not to, as they will avoid potentialy scrutiny this way, whereas if they do give something, it will get disected in the media

I know it's all "you gotta move on from Fergie" now, but just imagine if he was here and we were constantly getting done by these decisions. He wouldn't just stand for it like we do now.

We need our club to stop being silent on this matter. We need to go out with hard cold fact official statement and demand that this doesn’t happen anymore.

We are now on road for 4 lost game where 3 of them are directly because of referees and VAR.

This ref decided not to give us anything from the first minute to show he isn't affected by Old Trafford. The yellow that took him 15 seconds to give Casemiro at the start was an absolute joke.

Ten Hag needs to really go directly after what is happening. He’s had cheeky comments about things, but he needs to be direct and say it’s incredible how every decision goes against us and just bring up each incident.

These ignored decisions are beyond coincidence at this point. I’m not saying it’s deliberately corrupt, you just look at the insane overreaction to the Onana non-penalty in the Wolves game, where Wolves got an apology from PGMOL and the refs got demoted for a week, and it all makes sense. Why risk giving United anything? We’ve been absolutely screwed in multiple decisions since then and the only ones making a noise about it are United fans. It’s such a joke.

Have you even watched the game?

I’ve watched enough games as a football fan to know inherent bias when I see it. It happens to all fans of all teams. My point is not that every decision in this match was correct, they almost never all are.But that was not what was said in the post I was replying to.

“No” would have sufficed.
