Never a penalty. Almost feels like they gave it to make up for the awful earlier decisions. I’m relieved it’s evened out today but what a pointless addition to football this has been.

When you look at the pen given against Eriksen when we played Bayern, Maguire's in the first half. There wasn't any chance that they shouldn't give that one and I don't think any of them should be.

I dont think that should have been a pen but if the first one is given then that has to be given as well.
Ref had no choice but to give that after Maguire’s. Literally no chance that wasn’t going to be a pen. Neither should have been.

Both penalties are harsh. But if they gave the first againsr Maguire, then no reason not to give us as they have to be applied consistently.

The IFAB rules have absolutely no mention of proximity, just a vague "making the body bigger" bit, so I suppose by the letter of the law, they're handball.

Given the low threshold for a penalty in this game you might as well just start lumping the ball into the box and seeing what happens. It's to the point now where you might aswell just try to hit the ball into a players arm.

For the love of God, get rid of this mess. I've never changed my mind on something so much - I was a big cheerleader for it. What a farce it makes of so many matches. It's almost all that gets spoken about. Nobody knows what's happening half the time. You cant celebrate goals.
