Yep, the truth helped us a lot.I'm not sure why people are still going on about this when that "slating" turns out not to be that far from the truth seeing how much work the squad needs.

Makes not appointing Mourinho last season look like a right feck up.We didn't have Ancelottis and Guardiolas to pick from this year, who else is out there who could conceivably join United and is better than van Gaal? He'll steady the ship for 3 years and then we'll move for someone younger.
It's a vicious circle isn't it. Behind close door you need to let the players know what you need them to do, but making use of the media to get your message across is low brow not to mention very discouraging. Its not like many managers are capable of doing that discretely but the minimum we require of the manager is not to openly criticise players and do the work behind close door forcefully.I'm not sure why people are still going on about this when that "slating" turns out not to be that far from the truth seeing how much work the squad needs.
Not sure what your point is as it's obvious Moyes wasn't the man to sort out those faults/carry out the rebuild, but the fact that he was right in saying it's needed still holds true and idk why people hold it against himYep, the truth helped us a lot.
I mean, can you imagine if one of our players turned around and said 'Moyes isn't good enough for us, he needs a lot of work. Hes lucky to be here'?? Madness, it should never happen.I'm not sure why people are still going on about this when that "slating" turns out not to be that far from the truth seeing how much work the squad needs.
After a 26 year dictatorship under Fergie, I think we're the only club left where LvG will have the chance to enact a proper revolution. No Directors of Football, no meddling chairmen, no mega-hyped party-animal players. He'll basically have the run of the place I'd imagine.
That you study about Van Gaal and the Oranje team and report back here from time to time. Will appreciate it.So glad this is over. It had become very tedious. I was getting really sick of seeing 'United linked with van Gaal in the meeja'
So what are we getting overexcited about next?
I tend to believe LvG might be a good fit for United because we all have one goal. He might not fit in the City regime (too many high paid players) or Chelsea (the owner meddling) or Liverpool (the club which has not been winning the league for so long their players don't have the mentality) because in there he wouldn't be able to have his big ambition fulfilled without upsetting a few people. After a 26 year dictatorship under Fergie, I think we're the only club left where LvG will have the chance to enact a proper revolution. The season we've just had will at least make us appreciate it all the more if LVG brings back the good times to Old Trafford. Hopefully we give an absolute pasting to some of the clubs that kicked us when we were down. No mercy.
Genuinely, please, no banners this time!!
Is it pronounced Van 'Haal' or 'Gaal'?
What's the correct pronunciation?Neither, but 'Haal' is probably closer.
It's gonna be madhouse next season! Either it's going to be totally amazing or totally disastrous, can't be middle-of-the-road! Can't wait!"Louis gives his players instructions they need to perform to make the system work. And the system is sacred. All players are equal to Van Gaal, big names do not exist for him, and everyone is subordinate to the team and system, his system." - Dennis Bergkamp, when seemingly comparing Van Gaal unfavourably to Cruyff and Arsene Wenger
"You wonder whether he has one or two screws loose." - Johan Cruyff
"Van Gaal is the Hitler of the Brazilian players, is arrogant, proud and has a problem. He has no idea of football. His type is sick, he's crazy." - Giovanni, Brazil international who worked with Van Gaal at Barcelona
"Louis van Gaal has been a very good coach in many clubs but his style is very difficult. He is very tough, people don't like him, but he wins. And one day you don't win - and when you don't win, everybody that is angry with you will come back to you and try to kill you." - Ferran Soriano, Manchester City chief executive and Van Gaal's vice president at Barcelona
Thanks... clear your throat at the same time and it sounds better.
What about one that reads:
"Total Football"
Is it pronounced Van 'Haal' or 'Gaal'?
The best way is somewhere in between. Try pretending you're a cat that can't quite manage to cough up a particularly irritating hairball and you're pretty close.

LGV?Light Goods Vehicle is the right man for the job, iohm.
Isn't our new manager a Ford Transit?LGV?
Still a better choice than Moyes. Brrm!Isn't our new manager a Ford Transit?
LVG:"We don’t talk about money. We talk about the players I want. We’ll have to see if we can get them. We also talked about who can go"
Oh Louis....I'm like putty in your hands
I like it. Someone who is decisive.
Excellent news. None of this giving everyone a chance crap. Get the deadwood out!LVG:"We don’t talk about money. We talk about the players I want. We’ll have to see if we can get them. We also talked about who can go"

Pretty much why I think we're a perfect fit for each other currently. At Barca and Bayern when he got sacked it was more for falling out with the board and players who didn't want to adapt to his system, or work hard in training. At United he should have complete control, without the interference of a director of football, without the board forcing him to do things, and most of our players are pretty hard workers currently, and nobody will get in his way if he wants to ship some of them out if they aren't working for him. After a 26 year dictatorship under Fergie, I think we're the only club left where LvG will have the chance to enact a proper revolution.
