"Clearly, if the election were held today, Santorum would win by a large margin

-- in the College of Cardinals."

..and another

"Rick, when the USA starts electing an Ayatollah we'll give you a call. Right now we're electing a President. "

Wow, Ass Juice is leading by 5.8% in the RCP composite poll, as well as all 5 polls making it up: Gallup, Rasmussen, CNN, CBS & Pew. In under 30 days he's gone from 14.5% to 33.8%.

Amazing how sheep-like the national numbers are, you win a state and suddenly everyone thinks you're better all over the nation!

I don't know how long Santorum can maintain his surge (hehe).

Once Romney's attack ads kick in, he'll be smacked down a few notches, just as Gingrich was. The only problem for Romney is that its now been proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the Republican base don't want him, and that will be fatal for him in November. On the other hand, if Santorum or Gingrich are the nominees, they'll subsequently hemorrhage loads of centrist independents that they need to carry many states. Either way its a win win for Obama.

He will sustain his surge as long he has cialis.

Frankly at this stage, Romney is pretty much damaged goods.

The Republicans will still go and vote , cause their hatrad for the black guy is greater than thier dislike for a mormon if he does win the nomination. But most independents will see what this guy is...A very rich guy who has nothing in common with ordinary people.

If it is assjuice, all the independents will run to Obama. Game over.

Either way Obama will still win. He will just win in a huge landslide with Ayotollah Rick.

Gays hated him so much they decided to turn his name into a euphemism for the leftovers of gay sex...frothy semen, poo, and lube. By doing this, they then search bombed it to make sure it's the first thing that shows up on Google.

Yup, just search "Santorum" on google, as I'm sure many of his fans innocently do, and see what the top result is :D

I think it's a reasonable generalisation. How else would you explain the unmatched level of hatred towards him from the conservative population if not for the fact that he's the first non-white president? You only need to read the comments on the Fox News website to see how common racism is when Obama is concerned. Of course not all Republicans who vehemently oppose Obama are racist, but it's obvious to everyone that a great many are, and a good many more are wiling to tolerate it.

The filthy Republicans are playing a losing game and have no chance of winning whoever they nominate to stand. They've covered themselves in that much shit it's actually hilarious. I don't know what the exact view is in the US, but in Europe the view of the Republican core, in general, is that it consists of an extremist, prejudiced, backward pack of loonies. They are a joke. Moderate Republicans must be in despair over what their party has become.

Schools?

assjuice does not believe we need schools.....

no worries. we can teach our kids anything we want at home.

No shit!!!

I just read in the local paper that he stated at a rally over the weekend that public schools are an artifact of the industrial revolution. (Implying we don't need public schools anymore- what a frikkin' nutbag:eek:)

Hmm, if he really knows the history of public education I'm impressed, public school as we know it in the states was developed to prepare people for jobs in industrial settings. But what we need is an adjustment to the contemporary requirements of the work force, not christian themed home schooling.

Fox News website???

Its not a reasonable generalization actually. Your view of the republican core is way off base, IMO. I think it's true of the far right. But I think the far left as just as wacko, but for other reasons.

To be fair, one repub candidate is not that far different from Obama politically. If he ends up the nominee Obama will be in for a little fight. Any of the others and he wins comfortably.

You need to stand back and listen to yourself there. It's not a reasonable generalization, but it's one that many enjoy making. It's not an unmatched hatred either. The fury towards Clinton and his wife was a thing to behold. They certainly turned out with Ken Starr with their knives after the Lewinsky affair. They were rabid when he broached the subject of gays in the military. The hearty right wing laugh along with Gingrich's mom when she called Hilary a bitch and their rage against her in particular when she lead the Clinton health care initiative early on.

You say "How else would you explain the unmatched level of hatred towards him from the conservative population if not for the fact that he's the first non-white president?" because you seem to have made up your mind already. Think about it though... What other comparable Democratic party targets have there been that have held that sort of power?

Mean, ignorant, anonymous comments on a website!?! Shock horror! Come on, that means exactly nothing.

There's plenty wrong with the Republican views without needing to slap a racist caricature on them.

"The filthy Republicans"?? Do you really mean that. It hardly strikes a thoughtful tone.

Sorry mate, I'm not meaning to pick on you. It's more that I take issue with the tone the whole affair has taken. That really does seem to have gotten worse over the years.

Nothing new...the divide has progressively gotten worse over the last decade. There is such a 'us vs them' in politics, and the right/left it really is scary.

Perfectly normal people, people you work with, socialize with, but when it comes to this, become completely unreasonable and irrational.

Hey, we always knew the first black president would get the dirty politics meter turned up to 10. You can count on Rush to call any democrat a socialist nazi, but they like to add on a secret-Muslim and not-even-a-real-American. It's hard not to think of the racist American south at times like this.

You average person, and indeed you average American isn't smart enough to see though an appeal to their prejudice, and republicans are more than happy to play on it.

Not that democrats don't have their own short comings as well, I have to say I'm not at all satisfied by a 'lesser of two evils' type choice.

While I certainly agree that the Democrats have their issues (a multitude of them), I have a problem with people always trying to portray two sides as equally bad, or even anywhere near equally bad. The Republican party is far worse than the Democratic party. How could anyone possible think anything else? They are close to nominating Rick fecking Santorum as their candidate for President of the United States, for feck's sake!

Both parties are right wing. Like the Tories and UKIP are both right wing in the UK. But that isn't to say they are close. Republicans would be an unelectable, lunatic fringe party in the UK. Most Democrats would probably feel quite at home in the Tory party.

This is what I've been saying for some time, the left-wing/progressive movement in the US is dead and has been reduced to a few prominent senators/congressman within the Democrat party.

Granted, the dems are still heaps less crazy than their GOP counterparts, they're still right-wing as far as European standards go. I mean its absurd that Republicans label Obama a Marxist, I mean heck David Cameron's probably more of a Marxist than Barry is.

The Tea Party Republicans would be, but there are lot more to the GOP then fundemantalist Christians and Michelle Bachman.

I have a feeling that this fundamentalist movement in that party will be over in a few years.

true. Its the Republicans who have chosen as a priority to defeat Obama at the expense of hurting the country.

All this bolloxs both are just as bad is the standard defence from righties embarrased by their party.

And the fact the country is coming back inspite of the GOp is credit to the administration.

btw it looks like Romeny is going to stay safe in the next two primaries afterall.. Santorum is not funny at all.

It will still be an easy win for Obama....matter of time before Mittens put the foot in again.

You've clearly never heard a speech from Maxine Waters, Barbarba Boxer, et al.

Were Maxine Waters and/or Barbara Boxer ever serious candidates for their party's nomination for President of the United States?

I'm going to guess: no.

Actually, from reading on wikipedia, I don't see what's so extreme about Barbara Boxer? Pretty much proves the point, I think, if that is supposed to be an example of an "extremist" in the Democratic party. She'd probably barely be left-wing in Europe.

People love to use the race card to substitute well reasoned arguments about Republicans. Its rather shallow and uncalled for.
