Could envision? He would be absolutely, 100% guaranteed to lose the election. Hell, they might even try to impeach him.
Many people think Obama is an atheist.
... and muslin.
Let me rephrase that: a lot of intelligent people think Obama's an atheist.
which poll is that?
oh wait it is a Saliph poll of his friends who agree that there is no God...
This is just mind-numbingly stupid.
Saliph...you are so predictable.
I don't mind being predictable.
SO whats the general consensus. Obama to win but not by as much?
Cain is taking a big chance with these silly ads. In one sense he has to market himself in a way that distinguishes him from Romney and Perry, and the ads are definitely working. On the other hand, they're painting him as a bit of a weirdo, which won't fly in a general election should he manage to slip by Romney.
Indeed, I have written this guide to attempt to help those who defend Cain by pointing out how others have done it.
I reserve the right to edit this as I am inspired by the postings of my peers.
1. Never admit Cain did anything. Insist that the allegations are from anonymous sources even though they are not and that they are baseless event though the NRA paid off the accusers.
2. Insist that the women involved were overly sensitive. There are zero facts to support this, but insist on it anyway.
3. Invoke Clinton. Ignore that you are excusing poor behavior with more poor behavior.
4. Insist Clinton was impeached for getting a hummer by an intern in the Oval Office. Despite this not being true, repeat as often as possible.
5. Call Obama stupid. While it has nothing to do with any topic, it does add towards some apparently necessary daily quota.
6. Blame the “liberal media”. Never hold Cain accountable for his apparent actions and instead hold the news accountable for reporting news.
7. Bring up Larry Sinclair. Though Sinclair and his story have long been discredited, it allows you to insist that President Obama is gay. This has nothing to do with Cain but rather allows the poster to keep fooling themselves into believing they are straight.
8. Repeat anything that Hannity says, and be sure to use the term “electronic lynching” as many times as possible as it implies bigotry towards Cain from anyone that dare criticize him.
9. Substitute Limbaugh for Hannity in step 8 and follow the rest of the instructions.
10. Bring up John Edwards. Though it has nothing to do with anything, just bring it up. Ignore that Edwards dropped out after his scandal.
11. Never admit your own hypocrisy. Never. Pretend it does not exist and pretend others can not see it.
12. Continue avoiding talking about Cain and repeat rule 3.
Why don't US journalists give politicians a harder time?
Jeremy Paxman would have butchered him if he had given an answer like that to one of his questions.
News organizations don't go get news, they read press releases. They'll ask a question they could get the answer to in 5 minutes on google, and that's the news story, the question.
The uniformity of the unwillingness to get involved in real questions by all major media outlets is enough to make one fantasize about 'conspiracy'.
And yes, Jon Stewart is left to ask the only real questions...on a comedy show. Sad times.
The public doesn't trust journalism in the US either. I may be wrong, but at least in the UK the integrity of political journalists isn't in question. Over here the big name journos are always coloured by their political affiliations, whether real or imagined according to the public.
Nick Robinson could be an exception though!
The left thinks that the BBC is pro-tory and the right thinks that it is pro-labour.
The way they jump down the Government's throat when new economic numbers are released goes to show that it has no allegiances to it - last week they were saying that Britain's far better than expected third quarter performance of 0.5% growth was gloomy, Robert Peston always finds a way to tell us we are all done for.
Peston's father has been a long-time Labour adviser and was a former opposition spokesman for them when Thatcher was prime minister, so I do actually believe that Robert has a leftist agenda, which will be reflected in his, if not the wider BBC's reporting.
Did you know that Stephanie Flanders went out with the two Eds?
It does annoy me when the left accuses the BBC of tory bias over alleged close ties - ties to Labour don't get much closer than that.
Journalism isn't really that good in the UK really, The Independent and BBC News sometimes come up with something good but that doesn't happen particularly often. BBC News 24 even has celebrity news sometime.. Ew.
BBC World News tends to be quite good though.
Ms. Bialek is the first woman to come forward publicly with such allegations. In her statement to the press, Ms. Bialek said that she had been fired at the association after about a year working for the group’s educational foundation in its Chicago office. She said she sought Mr. Cain’s help to find other employment during a trip to Washington about a month after he left the group.
During that trip, she said Mr. Cain had secretly upgraded her hotel room before drinks and dinner that the two had to discuss possible future employment. She said that after dinner, he put his hand on her leg and ran it under her skirt and pulled her head toward his crotch.
“I was surprised and shocked and I said, what are you doing? You know I have a boyfriend,” Ms. Bialek recalled saying. “This is not what I came here for.”
“You want a job, right?” she said Mr. Cain responded. “I asked him to stop and he did.”
Yeah but who cares about Cricket? Lets not forget NOTW turned down the expenses information due to a lack of sex.. It was a tabloid and nothing more.BBC World News and News 24 are the same feed. The Indie is crap and just aggregates what others pump out generally. Whatever your political leanings, you have to admit the likes of the NOTW blowing open the cricketing betting scandal etc...are examples of world leading journalism that had global repurcussions. You just seem desperate to devalue all journalism in some sweeping statement.
