CBS has called Florida for Obama, apparently.

Where did you hear/see that?

Looking at the counties and % reporting, I think it'd be tight to call it for Obama, but I could see it if Miami-Dade, Broward, and Hillsborough are the major counties with outstanding votes.

FB post by raving right-wing lunatic...

Joe Trippi and Karl Rove....together they do some really good commentating on the votes. They help you understand what's happening out there.

Pre-Nazi Jugend? He could have been pope...How much do Canadians give a shit about this election out of interest?

Pre-Jungvolk, even. I'm sure there are some who care a lot but I think most of us only care that they keep paying for our natural resources instead of taking them by force.

Obama leading by 4000 votes in Florida after 71% of votes being counted. I am just hoping that it won't happen a replay of 2000.

I did say that 'by alright', I meant that he was re-elected, and that people didn't express the same discontent as they have for Romney's campaign, something nobody's disagreed with yet.

I think his approval rating was very high when he got re-elected because of the way he'd handled the war on terror, but then it soon went downhill when people realised he was a bit of a loon.

Michigan straight in for Obama, good sign.

:lol:Was the Jungvolk like a Nazi creche? So it's all about the tar sands?

NC still 50/50 with over 60% in.. thought Romney was confident of winning there.

What people? If you mean people like us, then yes they were probably even more doom and gloom about Bush than we are about Romney.

Your faith in the American people is nice and all, but Bush getting re-elected and Romney being in with a shout doesn't mean they are/were good.

I really should go to bed now. If I wake up and Romney's leader of the free-ish world, I blame you cnuts.

Yeah ditto. The infographics are luring me in though.

Listening to NPR and flickign through the various news channels.

Three states voting on same-sex marriage [Minnesota among them] one one on the use of cannabis.

Still waiting on McCaskill vs Akin...

Maybe. But without moving to bring in some blacks, women and particularly Hispanics, the GOP are in demographic trouble next time round (unless Mitt wins and the economy's booming).

He may not be up for re-election, but congressional Dems will, and therein lies the problem.

My point was that if he wins, like any president in his (or her) second term, he'll be afforded the opportunity to actually get things done with regards to policy rather than the total compromise that it takes to get re-elected. Like any 'system', it is flawed. Personally I think that the term should be six years, not four - but that's a different debate.

As it stands I believe that the senate will remain left and the house right. When the dust settles - if Obama does win, it will no longer be about re-election and I'd assume for political purposes that the house would be more willing to actually get bills, laws and policy passed rather than sit on their laurels and vote solely on the basis of partisan politics for the simple reasons of pleasing their voters / constituents. Again, it is a flawed system.

Oh, and I voted. For Obama.

 I haven't even voted yet!
serves me right, should have done it this morning and feck being late for work.

:mad:People died so you could vote in someone who believes in 'acceptable rape'.

What the feck is up with that woman on the left's face and hair?

Surely not? You're telling me that if I was here eight years ago I'd be readying myself to do an emergency shop should Bush get re-elected?

I just think that Bush was looked upon in Britain a bit like Boris Johnson is, as a bit of a bumbling buffoon. Romney seems to be viewed upon as if he's the devil incarnate.

If the Jungend were the boy scouts, the jungvolk were the cub scouts.

Tarsands, timber, hothouse tomatoes, etc. As long as they can pay for our stuff, we'll be happy.

The legalising of cannabis is likely to be passed in Colorado apparently.
