In terms of people noticing bumper stickers, I don't ever recall people reacting to Obama/Biden, but now that there's a United sticker in its place, I do remember seeing someone in a Liverpool shirt on a motorbike ride up behind me, and looking at him in the rear-view as he got the same smirk in his expression I had.

funny that. Because once when I parked my car to go to a Supermart..when I came back there was this Asian bloke...parked in a truck...and he had that 'smirk' you talk of...guess what.... a Liverpool supporter.

blah blah...yeah. rolled up my window and drove away.

could not make him out with the accent an all anyways.

Apparently there are Repub groups in PA that are asking people for ID as they try to vote.

Water's a huge political football in this state.

Not in Fair Oaks it isn't.

I'm fully aware of water politics...those robbing SF and LA cnuts want more than their share. That stupid cnut McClintock wants the Auburn Dam, my neighbour wants to run his sprinkler all day, smartmeters etc. etc.

San Francisco actually doesn't want more water, seeing as they already own more than their share outright via the Hetch Hetchy system. They sell excess water to other cities and counties in the bay area. But yeah, there's the high-population SoCal, there's the farmers in the south, the valley and the north state, the environmentalists want to restore Hetch Hetchy, and are trying to get SF citizens on board.

Between drought and global warming and the continuing growing population, the state is going to reach a tipping point where there's just not enough water for what everyone wants, so who gets pinched when that happens is as big a potential apocalypse as anything the San Andreas can unleash.

when I suggest we move to California, my wife has only one word.

Earthquakes.

but I must make a trip there some day in any case.

Lived over 20 years within a few miles of major fault lines, including the San Andreas. The number of earthquakes I felt in that time that I was sure were earthquakes and not the upstairs neighbour having a go at dancing or what have you is in the single digits.

Sam Wang's final prediction . Obama 303 , Romney 235 ,but he wouldn't be surprised if Florida goes to Obama.

Here's what he wrote regarding Florida :

As I wrote late last night, Florida is a hard case. Several new polls came out this morning, making the median basically zero. As a tie-breaker I resorted to mean-based statistics. I will be unsurprised for it to go either way. Nate Silver and Drew Linzer went the other way. We are all tossing coins. I am prepared to lose the coin toss.

Assuming no recounts (though that seems unlikely), when will we know Florida?

Romney seems to have no path without it - Obama could lose every swing state and still win. Romney would have to win PA, and even then Obama would still win if he won Ohio.

No in fairness that was a free bet so I went ambitious as it did not cost me anything in essence.

The bet I put my own cash on was for Romney to win the popular vote and Obama to win the electoral college.
Oh Sparky. Romney's 10 points clear in the Missouri polls!

When do I need to start watching Sky News to watch the results coming in? I'm guessing the polls won't have closed yet?

Last time round it got called at 4.30 UK time when Obama won by a couple of %. North Carolina, which I think had a recount, was into the next day.

Orduck - east coast polls close at midnight UK time I believe. West coast polls 4am.

Donald Trump's timeline is comedy gold. Almost hard to believe it's actually a genuine person behind it.

Hows it looking?
Does Mitt still have a chance or has Obama won it?

They are still voting in the states pal, will be a few hours yet before the first results even start to come through.

Meh, it was a free bet. No point using a free bet on something completely safe.

You could've taken a risky bet and still bet on something that atleast has a chance of happening. For example North Carolina.

Missouri is a complete waste of a free bet.

I know the results arent out yet. I meant how is it looking?
Are the projected results still too close or has the gap widened?
