I was watching that. Its hilarious watching these guys trying to refute Math.
Silver is what pundits and commentators hate. They try to paint a picture of ever changing dynamics and "breaking news". Whereas Silver with pure Math is able to give definitive answers rather than wishy washy punditry.
The map on fivethirtyeight has gone dark blue everywhere -including CO, NH, IA - and light blue for Florida. I like that.

He's all right. Lt. Governor, nothing too embarrassing/bad. The current governor is a bit of an idiot and has ties to Mike Easley who was convicted of felony campaign finance violations. State democrats have been fairly corrupt for decades. One GOP member of the legislature switched parties for money to become a democrat. They had power so long they did whatever they wanted with impunity. Now the worm has turned. The GOP has its turn to play its dirty tricks in terms of politics.
Deeply considering a massive bet on Obama winning the election. Nate Silver has him at 91%. Sam Wang 99%. Paddy Power 2/9. Can't see how he loses with the polling. A grand gets me about 225 quid.

I think the party will need to be broken before it can come to the center. It will need very strong leaders..like Powell, Wilkerson and Lugar to do it. They will need to get rid of teh Roves.
Otherwise the GOP will become a regional party...fast. I cannot see the GOP as it is now winning the presidency in the foreseeable future.
