Out of interest - anyone here predicting an Obama victory with <300 electoral votes? Thinking of going big on the over now rather than a straight Obama win.

I already voted so I don't have to deal with voting tomorrow. Just have to make it through work and then all night of watching the election...

It's sorta like Christmas eve...except not a good nervousness at the moment. I knew who would win 2004 and 2008. I'm 98% sure Obama will win, but the alternative is disturbing enough to make me worry.

Anyone know much about Jill Stein? She's mentioned this Green New Deal many times. Just said something about turning bomber factories into solar factories.

Thankfully, I've sent in my absentee ballot, have a busy day at work tomorrow, and then Real Madrid and Ajax to watch tomorrow night. I will hopefully finish watching City crash out of the CL, turn on the news, and see Romney in a concession speech. These 538, RCP, etc positions are making me feel ok, but I'm still nervous. I'll never forget waking up the morning after the 2000 election to find that Bush had won. I can't stomach a similar situation in a couple days.

Republican bird (something Stewart) claims women are concerned about jobs and debt.

Democrat bird (Cecile something) claims women are concerned about their rights and planned parenthood.

Piers makes the republican bird look foolish as he thanked them. Something like, "You keep saying jobs makes me know you believe social issues are a big deal to women." To which the republican bird said no.

I did. I predicted Romney to win CO, FL and NC.

But I'm a pessimist.

EDIT: But with Silver's latest update even I'm thinking 300+

I'll take a blast at predicting the Senate as well - Dems 54 (including indies).

Also brought up HR347 and NDAA. Good for her. She's still a complete nutter though.

Nah, I'd say she's the most principled candidate - its only her obsessed theory that green policy would fix every issue, environmental or otherwise, which makes her come across a tad bit nutty. I still would though.

Its so scary its not even funny.

Oh no, it is funny.

Topped off nicely with that remark about Buddhists. :)

You couldn't even agree to disagree with a lot of what was said, because when the reporter scratched beneath the surface there wasn't a whole lot there.

Picking out a fair concern from that video such as the increased number of drones flying within US borders, that must be qualified with the intentions of Bush and Romney on the matter.

Of course if a TV crew went to a political conference or rally in Britain i hae no doubt they could put together similarly a cringe worthy feature.

Caught between:

A grand on Obama at 2/9

or

500 quid on Obama > 300.5 electoral votes at 5/6
Rest on Obama to win certain states like Colorado at 4/6, Florida at 13/8, etc.

May I suggest

250 on Obama >300.5 electoral votes at 5/6
500 on Obama at 2/9
250 for Eboue to buy weed and get really high in case Romney wins

Bets in:

500 quid on Obama at 2/9
300 on Obama > 300.5 electoral votes at 5/6
50 quid on Obama to win Colorado at 4/6
50 quid on Obama to win Florida at 13/8
100 quid saved so if Romney wins I can say "hey, at least at one stage you were going to bet a grand!" (also for weed for Eboue)

It's a parody account. Or at least one of those twitter accounts which says it's a parody but does nothing in the least bit parodical.

I've seen a lot of jokes on twitter on a variation of that theme tonight. Genuinely hate (edit - maybe disdain is a better word) conservatives quite a lot.

Repeated Twitter jokes are the worst. I've been searching "Obama" and "Romney" for the last several months.

If I see:

Obama probably called Romney and said "I don't see how you can hate outside the White House, you can't even get in. Hahaha leggo!"

or

❒ Obama ❒ Romney ✔ Yoga Pants

... one more time, I'm gonna get stabby.

I just love Fox News' experts predicting virtually every swing state for Romney in a landslide victory.

Any reports warning of voter intimidation from the new black panthers yet?

Hannity may have covered it, he basically jumped from one Obama-bashing talking point to another (faster than usual.)

Hannity must be bricking the inevitable loss tomorrow.

I actually think they're convinced they'll win. Voter turnout etc.

This expert saying she thinks Romney will take Wisconsin and New Hampshire (and has a shot at PA).

One expert trying to point out to the others that Obama is actually ahead in the polls..

They do love their scary black people on Fox. I imagine when it's a clear Obama win we'll be seeing a lot of videos of 'menacing' black people outside voting stations.

You mean the anointed one? :smirk:

Even if they believe to the contrary i expect it is a bit like when a Sky Sports presenter is trying to hype up a shockingly bad or grossly one sided match at half time.
