Dear god why are the media calling this a draw/Ryan victory. Why. My god. How.

Because everything is a draw in the mainstream media otherwise someone might call them biased. :nervous:

Another part that pisses me off about these wussy "journalists" of today is that they are too chicken shit to call a politician out on his bullshit.

If someone states something that is factually incorrect call him out on it ffs and not pretend as if it's a valid opinion.

The mainstream media has become a mouth piece of their buddies in Washington, from watchdog to lapdog so to speak.

Exactly. Apparently all Obama had to do to draw it was talk shit a little more smarmily, maybe propose putting more troops in "the most dangerous place on Earth". Have a few more hideously rehearsed lines. Job done.

Republicans campaign drive has broadly been based on their spite of Obama, and acting the big boys by promoting another war in the Middle East.

The biggest finding tonight is this:

Ryan kept his cool and didn't look flustered. He kept on-script, no mistakes no wobbles. Job done.

Dont think this will impact the general election much though.

Didnt see the whole thing.. but from the bits i saw, Biden was destroying Ryan.

But its not about them.... as long as Ryan doesnt feck up, these wont hurt Romney too much.

I'm no expert on American politics but Baiden thrashed Ryan. The latter still had no answers to the taxes question. "Loopholes and Deduction" is really really vague.

Yeah, it is nonsense..

It's the same nonsense that the UK Labour Party is touting to pay for spending increases.

I've only seen 20 minutes of this so far and you got to love Biden. Every time Ryan says something, Biden just cracks up laughing because it's all crap. Hopefully will get to watch the rest at some point today.

The polls are a joke. Biden trashed Ryan aesthetically, and his arguments were infinitely more persuasive. Ryan looked like a little bitch.

I would say it's condescending and rude.

You wouldn't expect the VP to act like a amateur congressman in a debate.

Biden showing Obama how to do it.

Obama won't come across well attacking. He tried that against Clinton and it didn't work out too well. Mainly because he can't think quick enough on his feet, and that his biggest appeal is 'calm, steady, reassuring' President.

Romney is also very good on the come-back, he buried Perry in the debates when he was attacked. I'm sure that the Romney campaign will be prepared for the attacks.

Sarah Palin could've buried Perry.

Romney didn't bury anyone in the primaries; in fact only survived them because his opposition were absolutely shocking. Perry buried himself with his own idiocy of not being able to remember which three federal agencies he would close if elected, and other hilariously idiotic gaffs.

Wow, you really are a bit ridiculous aren't you.

Though to be honest I wish Biden hadn't interrupted Ryan as much as he did. It came across as a bit excessive at times. And there really was no need for it.

Ask Al Gore how acting rude and childish in a debate works out. But while various polls will swing around a bit due to the debate (but remember there is only one poll that is going to count) I would be surprised if this changed the outcome of the vote.

One of these snap polls was weighted towards GOP participants, so citing it as a legitimate source of evidence is a bit fatuous.

The CBS poll:

The "uncommitted voters" who participated in this poll are either undecided or have chosen a candidate but say they could still change their minds. They are less likely than voters overall to identify with either of the two major political parties: 58 percent call themselves independents, 17 percent identify as Republicans, and 25 percent say they are Democrats.

Bizarre methodology.

Biden clearly won, how any one can think otherwise is beyond me. His constant laughing at Ryan was definitely condescending and probably unnecessary, but I thought it was hilarious and it pissed off all of the Republicans so I'm not too bothered about it.

Ryan's closing speach was really bad, there was no emotion at all. It was all very cringeworthy. So was his little story about Romney paying for some kids college tuition, I loved it when he said "it wasn't about the money, it was about the time he spent with them" or something. Yeah, I'm sure it had nothing to do with the $100,000 or so he paid to get them through four years of college.
