That would be a disaster. Never mind all the bad things Trump is doing right now, getting three Supreme Court justices (in possibly less than one term!) would have effects far greater and longer lasting than anything else he could do (except possibly nuclear war or catastrophic climate change).

Newsom has said that he is not going to run in 2020. Perhaps in 2024 or 2028.
Newsom can do great things and set the marker as the Governor of California. A presidential run will eat up all his time and leave the state neglected.
Beto too should try to win Cornyn's seat in 2020 first before dreaming about the presidency.
I know running against Trump presents an excellent chance for every half decent Democrat to win, but those two need to bide their time for now. Gramps should put all his support behind Lizzy Warren & let her have a free run. There is appetite in the Dem base for a progressive female president and Lizzy is the best candidate available. She trumps the likes of Klobuchar, Harris or Gillibrand in terms of appeal & a clear agenda. She'll be much better positioned to take on Biden or anyone else in the primaries if she has Bernie's backing.
I am all for #ElizabethWarren2020.

There will be a civil war within the democratic party at one point for sure as the old establishment do not like being challenged just like in any society. If the establishment part of the party refuses to change it´s way and drop the pandering to the elites of society and corporations, then they must be challenged the hard way and force them out through an intense political war. The Democratic party need to address issues that ordinary people suffer from like overly expensive education, not enough good jobs or obscene health care costs. People that have been in a place a long time often believe they own the place due to being seniors regardless of their performance and results. It is time for political change in America and the establishment fearing AOC´s popularity only shows they fear they will end up being the losers as they are losing grip on the political discourse in America, due to the progressive and the DSA movements gaining traction in recent years.
