The trouble with Kavanaugh is that the Dems will open impeachment proceedings on him next time they are in power.

America is massive. They keyboard warrior/dem population is a small number (of which I am a part) and most did vote. Interior parts of America, the working middle class, those are the people that need to be convinced. Unfortunately democrats haven't done much to improve their lives while as of late Republicans have been a clown circus with stuff all over the place.
I'll still vote Dem most likely but I can understand people who will not.

Another point is that if amazon can afford to increase wages like that overnight then it is proof that wages arent tied to production in any meaningful way and there is a huge margin going to corporate leaches thst rightfully belongs to workers.

Rubbish, how many viewers do nightly Fox shows have? It's more talk radio and the lack of real news on network telly. Death of newspapers and rise of bullshit on social media.
That's a good point. Whenever I drive for long stretches in between cities (most recently in Sept.) conservatives absolutely dominate all talk radio and local stations. You basically get a choice of top tier Limbaugh/Hannity, national evangelical preachers, 2nd tier Savage/Prager or local evangelical preachers.
All of the outlets are a part of same political ecosystem so whether someone watches Fox or listens to the radio in the car, they are getting the same cherry picked propaganda that’s designed to influence their thinking in a particular direction.

Regardless of the validity of these allegations, there's so much of a political cloud over Kavanaugh that it would be beneficial for all parties but Kavanaugh's dreams of becoming a Supreme Court justice, if he decided to withdraw himself from consideration for the post. It would prevent the Supreme Court from losing any pretense of sitting above the partisan mire that is the rest of U.S. politics (his understandably angry defense will forever be used against him and any vote he casts on the bench). Plus he'd be able to reclaim some sort of moral victory.
Then again, a wise man once said, "moral victories is for minor league coaches". Regardless of the optics, the Republicans have nothing to lose (they're already fecked long term) and everything to gain by forcing this through.

I don’t have any animosity towards him. He’s simply your average drunken 80s student who did bad things after drinking too much and is now lying about it to get a job. The sexual assault allegation aside of course. Most people interviewing for a job would be disqualified at the mere allegations of what he has been accused of, and so should he.
